Terrible audio quality using Asterisk and X-Lite?
Greetings! I have made great progress thanks to this group. My Asterisk seems to be working for the most part. I am using the following equipment/software: * HP Vectra VL - Pentium Pro CPU - 256MB RAM * Redhat Linux 8 - Loaded straight from distro CDs as Developer Workstation - latest updates from RHN * Asterisk (latest as of two weeks ago when I used CVS checkout) * X-Lite SIP Client on a

terrible MeetMe sound with 1.6.2.9
Hi, Using MeetMee(1234,M) on asterisk 1.6.2.9 (debian/testing) we have terrible sound: the MOH is unrecognizable and speakers can't be understood; it sounds "ghostly". However the prompts ("your are the only one in this conference, etc.") sound fine. Our server has a Digium T410P card with two E1 lines going in and the wct4xxp dahdi module. Any idea?

Building aggregate types with dynamically sized elements
> > Note: C does not support this. GCC has an extension (variable length > arrays in structs), but clang doesn’t support it and it’s a terrible idea. It might be complex but it is not terrible. Depends on the language capabilities implementing it. Delphi for example allows exactly that and finalizes its records through RTTI which allows to automatically free up the memory. 2017-07-14

[OT] OMG Verizon is terrible
Had an appointment for these schmoes to come out and install another line. Was supposed to be 8-12. Its now 6PM and not even call. Missed 3 sales calls waiting on these jerks. No wonder customers were jumping ship to Vonage. -- Warm Regards, Lee

Foobar 2000 and Wine: terrible sound problem.
Hi, I am new here. Ever since I use Ubuntu Linux I've used Wine. This worked nice until version 1.3.x; 1.3.7, I believe. Now I cannot play music anymore with Foobar2000 and the new version of Wine. The problem is that the sound is very distorted every now and then and it even stops sometimes. Initially I've done some tests with Pulse Audio disabled because according to some users that

[LLVMdev] Thinking about "whacky" backends
...going to make a superset of C++, why not ditch C++ outright and just write a code converter to a friendlier high-level language. Sorry if I'm not making much headway with you right now but I'm just trying to save work by using existing code wherever possible to save work. Most JVMs perform terribly. Even Sun's has had notable performance issues in my experience. .NET is an excellent case, but then that's only available on Microsoft systems and from numerous benchmarks I've found, Mono is a weak substitute. If you're suggesting that we go the other way around (build native...

Terrible FPS on Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO)
Hey all I've been trying to get some good FPS on this game and I can't seem to get it work decently at all. According to the AppDB for LOTRO a lot of people seem to be able to push out 80-150fps on this game. I don't know how as I've scoured the internet and have tried every possible registry tweak you can imagine. I even tried niceing the process to see if it would make a

Terrible inbound call quality vs. outbound
Hi. I'm having a terrible time with call quality coming into my * box. I'm using VoicePulse over a 1.5/1.5 mbit line. Outbound calls are crystal clear on both the RX/TX sides of the conversation. Inbound calls, though, are HORRIBLY garbled on the RX side. I can barely hear the caller, but they report my quality is fine. Getting loads of garbled sounds and weird echoes. (Could just be

Terrible performance when setting zfs_arc_max snv_98
Hi there. I just got a new Adaptec RAID 51645 controller in because the old (other type) was malfunctioning. It is paired with 16 Seagate 15k5 disks, of which two are used with hardware RAID 1 for OpenSolaris snv_98, and the rest is configured as striped mirrors as a zpool. I created a zfs filesystem on this pool with a blocksize of 8K. This server has 64GB of memory and will be running

IAX2 Softphone Quality & Network Cards
We are in the process of an Asterisk call center deployment using IAX2 G711 ulaw softphones. Outbound sound quality is terrible. This week we rebuilt the entire LAN with Cisco 2950-EI switches and have employed QoS on the switches and router. Still sounds terrible. What we are now finding is that the network card in the PC may be the key to the problem. A Dell Optiplex P4 2.4GHz 512MB

2.0.x: terribly slow smbclient tar extension
Since the release of the first 2.0.x (jan1999) I noted that smbclient '\\server\share' -Tx filename.tar was terribly slow. smbclient '\\server\share' -Tc filename.tar is as fast as 1.9.18. If I use smbclient from 1.9.18 the performance is high (with the same target pc). These are some tests with: - Win98pc - lan 10Mbps - samba-2.0.5-pre4/rh60 - a dir containing 1,2MB in 52 files 1) smbclient '\\se...

Which Quad Port FXO is Best?
I'm looking to handle 3 PSTN lines with my Asterisk server. I have a Digium TDM22B and Sipura 3000. The Sipura works great, but the TDM22B seems to have terrible problems with my board---virtually all peripherals need to be disabled in BIOS, and then there is terrible noise, terrible silence and virtually no ability to use DTMF in IVRs. I really wish the TDM22B worked, because I much

Terrible dahdi_test results
Hello, I am trying to get a Wildcard TE110P to work in a relatively modern HP Proliant DL385p Gen8 server. Being a potent 12 core Opteron server I expected no problems. Much to my dismay the dahdi_test results are constantly terrible: # dahdi_test Opened pseudo dahdi interface, measuring accuracy... 89.101% 89.195% 89.142% 88.957% 88.953% 89.115% 89.089% 89.134% 89.066% 89.021% 88.933% 89.044%

Samba 2.2.7 terrible slow with Windows XP SP1
I have Samba 2.2.7 installed in a FreeBSD 4.7 server acting as a PDC. Every folder listing in our main shared folders (drive H: mapped during login script) is terrible slow. My terrible fail - started AD together with NT4 domain. Help needed
I am in a process of moving from NT4 domain to AD domain. And I did exactly what should not be done, I run AD on the production network. Now clients (Win7 and Win10) can not see old NT4 domain controller. What exactly I did:   - exported production LDAP data of our  domain called "NIS" and started new LDAP server with that data on new linux server, called ad1   - copied samba config

Programs are taking a terrible long time before they start
Hello, I have the following problem, that all my programs take a really long time before they are finally started (minutes). I don't know what I'v changed in my system configuration to cause this behaviour, it worked fine a few days ago. Can I enable some debug messages to see where wine spends the time?

Advanced Map 1.92 is terribly slow
Advanced map 1.92, a tool to modify some gba's rom games, has a problem on wine: when you load a file, it takes about 20 minutes to load. On Windows the loading is quite instantaneous. I know, it is not a common tool; but maybe the problem is simple to solve. What log(s) i have to attach?
