Centosplus & CentOS Extras, Enlarge your tent
I think Jim (the other one) is doing a marvellous job with extras and plus but he needs to expand the size of his tent. A sensible package policy in extras/plus repo will mean fewer temptations to install 3rd party repo's that can break your system. Some of the packages i would like to see are :- - MySQL 5 rpms - php 5 rpms (already provided) - Open Office 2.0 rpms - webmin - rkhunter -

CentOS village @ HAR
Hey I am just organizing the CentOS village at HAR and need a rough estimate of people who will be attending. What do people want? Shall the CentOS people have their own party tent? We are currently with the Fedora people. I will also post on the SL mailing list. Hope to see you all at HAR? point release?
Hello Esteemed Tent-pitchers, Can we get a point release of the current camping trunk? 1.5.1 maybe? I don''t know how stable trunk is, but there are lots of bugs that would be nice to get resolved. Particularly the ones involving the incorrect creation of the sessions table. Evan -- Evan Weaver Cloudburst, LLC

Fitting a Triangular Distribution to Bivariate Data
Hello, I have some xy data which clearly shows a non-monotonic, peaked triangular trend. You can get an idea of what it looks like with: x<-1:20 y<-c(2*x[1:10]+1,-2*x[11:20]+42) I've tried fitting a quadratic, but it just doesn't the data-structure with the break point adequately. Is there anyway to fit a triangular or 'tent' function to my data in R? Some sample code

CampingConf?
Campers -- In a few weeks there will be a bunch of people in Portland, OR, for a conference. A long time ago some campers mentioned that might be a good time for us to get together and hold a mini CampingConf for a few hours. Is anyone interested? Does anyone want to organize it? I''m thinking Wednesday night, May 16. We could possibly get a spot at FreeGeek (not likely since they are

Different time between date() and Sys.date()
Hi, I got two different times between these functions : > date() [1] "Thu Oct 21 12:11:37 2010" > Sys.time() [1] "2010-10-21 10:11:40 GMT" > I know that its because I did Sys.setenv(TZ="GMT"). Even if my system is set by default at CEST. I think that the difference between date() and Sys.time() is equal to the difference between CEST and GMT. I would like

7zip benchmark
Hi, I could try latest 7zip (4.57) on a triple boot machine (Debian SID i386, x86_64 and native Windows XP SP2), and found something surprising in the results : amd64 at 2400MHz linux32 -> 1814 linux64 -> 1946 win32 -> 2004 So performance is much better in Linux 64 bit than in 32 bit, while both are slower than native windows system. Is it normal, I mean does anyone else obtain

Virusscanning
...rently a non-dovecot pop3 proxy which has the ability to scan all passing mails for viruses. And I like dovecot. I have to combine both. One (and the only) idea is to call a virusscanner a shellscript, installed as PostLoginScript. But I see multiple disadvantages: 1. it's a shellscript which tents to be slow. 2. it's called *on* the mailbox-host, not on a dedicated proxy 3. I think it's slow and I dont't know howto measure. 4. I thint it's slow. 5. I think it's slow. 6. I like a "Plan B" Any suggestions !? Thanks, Andreas -- #################################...

Teliax Problems
One might also conclude that during the outage the support people were focusing on getting the system back up and were not near phones. At least that is what I would bet on. Just a thought considering how most of the smaller ITSPs seem to work. Using C++14 code in LLVM
I'll add my considerations as a frontend which depends on LLVM. It is a goal of Zig to keep the bootstrapping process to a minimum number of steps (See https://github.com/zig-lang/zig/issues/853). However, we will always depend on LLVM, Clang, and LLD. So that means the bootstrapping process of these 3 projects are inherently intertwined. From the perspective of bootstrapping, ability to
