Hi everyone! I'm having some issue trying to place calls with asterisk connected to an E1 R2 from Telmex Argentina. The other E1 port is connected to a Meridian which also uses R2 protocol. Calls sometimes fail with different error messages such as: Unicall protocol error 32773, 32772, 32769. Some other calls fail saying: Far end disconnected(cause=Destination out of order [...

Hello Everyone, I am looking into using Asterisk as our company PBX and voicemail system. I am very familiar with Linux, but the VOIP stuff is new for me. We are a non-proffit organization, so keeping things as cheap as possible is very important. I am looking on some advice for best implementing Asterisk. Here is a rundown of our current system: We have 14 phone lines coming into the building.

FYI to anyone else who may be experiencing random hangups; I removed the busydetect=yes lines from the conf files on my asterisk servers, and haven't had a hangup since. I had done that once before and it didn't seem to have much of an effect, so I'm not breaking out the champagne yet. I am using Asterisk 1.2.4 (upgraded from 1.2.3 this morning), spandsp .21, unicall 0.0.3. Any ideas? Are phone numbers portable in other countries? Are the same rules and conditions that exist here in the States mirrored elsewhere? I installed this version of astunicall that i downloaded from http://www.moythreads.com/astunicall/ Everything works fine, i'm able to make outgoing calls and recive incoming calls with all ANI and DNIS digits, except for International incoming call. My phone provider(Telmex) gives me 10 digits of ANI and 4 digits of DNIS, that i?ve configured on my unicall.conf. My main issue becomes when i recive an internationall incoming call, there is no ANI, appears with only one digit instead four, and that digit it's always a number 1( i attach unicall log). Hi, I am considering A101/102/104 cards for my asterisk installations. Has any of you used these or any Sangoma cards in such environment? Any thoughts? How do they stack up against Digium cards? Any input would be greatly appreciated. robert

I am trying to set up Astunicall 1.4.16 with a link from Alestra in Mexico City. I have done everything I usually do for other links in Mexico but this one simply will not send or receive calls. Is there anyone who is currently using Asterisk as a production H323 gateway? And using which combination of asterisk and H323 (chan_h323, chan_oh323?) The main issue is interoperability with other H323 parties (Cisco AS53xx, Nextone, etc). Searching the mailing list it seems that both h323 and oh323 are not so stable, is it only an impression or using h323 is really not so advisable?

Is there a way to busy out a Zap channel? I have a customer who is having problems with a line connected to a TDM800 card and we would like to busy out that line.
