Two TDM04 with Poweredge
Has anyone on this list succesfully managed to get two (or more) TDM04 (with four FXO each) working on a Dell PowerEdge server? If so, which model? Was it a hassle? I'm doing a seven-line installation and a callbank seems like overkill, I just don't want to get suck with a PowerEdge that gets into an IRQ mess. Thanks in Advance, Tom Hayden

Intel Atom based Asterisk server?
I currently have some Asterisk home servers on general pc hardware as well as a mission critical server asterisk pbx running on a Dell 2850 To reduce noise and power consumption i would like to migrate them all to an Intel Atom based solution, showstoppers so far were single NIC and single PCI slot motherboards. I found that Supermicro makes a Dual NIC board with one PCI slot and 2

TDM400 audio problems
Sorry everyone, I know this has been hashed over a bunch of times but I can't find anything that pertains to specific cracking and popping on the FXO modules of a TDM04. This happens on inbound or outbound calls. This is the first install I have done with a TDM card for FXO modules so please, be kind if I am missing something really simple. Damn I wish everyone wanted t-1's or pri's! Everything sounds great UA to UA and the dialplan works but any calls...

Ongoing problem with 1.8
I have tried installing many of the beta versions and most of the release versions of 1.8. I have 3 SIP phones which we use for all our calls. After installing 1.8 the first thing I try is calling out port one of my Digium TDM04 back into port 2. I can see that the call comes in and tries to call all three SIP phones but the phones never ring. Eventually the call goes to voice mail and these error messages pop up. I've read doc/sip-retransmit.txt and as far as I can tell, there's nothing there for me to try. I...

(no subject)
Hello everyone! I'm planning on setting up a new system shortly and can't pick the right card... We will have 2 or 3 lines coming in and 7 extensions (GXP2k's). Should I just get 2 or 3 X100P cards? Or do I need the Sangoma A20200 or even the A20200D (Echo cancelation)... I was thinking I'd use a Dell 2.0 GHz machine as the server... If anyone has suggestions as to

PRI echo issues: solvable?
Hello, After solving the other "low hanging fruit" audio issues in our Asterisk PBX, we are left with occasional cases of severe echo which we have not found a solution for yet. Our system: - Asterisk 1.2.0-beta1 - TE110P on a PRI - TDM04 and TDM40, but these are unrelated to current echo issues - Fedora core 3 - Echo canceller KB1 Most calls have minimal, acceptable echo levels. But occasionally, we get a call where the echo is delayed by a substantial amount (sometimes around 250ms), and sounds as loud as the remote party. One e...

Digium stopped TDM400P production: alternatives??
Hi, Digium stopped to produce TDM400P and the new TDM410 is too new to find it in our shops. The only alternative available is a "fully-compatible" Openvox product...but is it really "fully-compatible"? Any experience about Openvox products (card and zaptel versions, etc...)? Thank you! Giorgio.

Small office setup/using analog lines w/ Ast erisk
...nd after and see if it makes any difference. If it does (i.e. ZTTEST yields ~98.X% before and ~99.X% after) then right there that's going to help. I have used these statements in /etc/rc.d/rc.local to good effect (YMMV) setpci -v -s 01:04:0 latency_timer=ff <--Specific statement for Digium TDM04, you will have to do lspci -vv for the pci vendor id of your specific Digium card setpci -v -s XX:XX:X latency_timer=0 <-- Replace XX:XX:X with the PCI Vendor ID of every other card that lspci -vv recognizes. What the setpci statements do is allow the Digium cards to hog the bus more than any...

Newbie question
I have an ATA-186 in a SIP configuration (following Shawn Djernes how-to), but I get the following error at the asterisk console when I try to call the phone connected to the ATA: ioctl(ZT_LOADZONE) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device Failed to register zone 'United States / North America': No data available Everything works if I remove indications.conf from /etc/asterisk -

Best quad-port fxo solution with EC?
Hello All, I am trying to figure out which way to go for a quad port fxo solution with a good echo can on it. My options are the sangoma remora, a mediatrix fxo, or something similar. The issue is that I would need a good EC. This would be on about a 9000 foot loop, and the lines don't function well on a spa-3000 or zaptel tdm 4 port card. Anyone have experience that drives them in a

Asterisk 1.0.9 long term stability <--thread hijack, why not reboot?
Disclaimer: Not a troll I'm curious as to this obsession with uptime is. All of the posts of this type are along the lines of "After X days, Y thing does not work but if I reload or reboot, it's OK" - so why not cron a reboot? Is it considered bad form or something like that? I reboot every night whether it is needed or not, not afraid to admit it, and everything works fine for

passing through MWI info from SBC
Hi.. I am about to replace my aging Nortel Venture system with an Asterisk system and 6 Polycom IP 501 phones, and a couple sipura 841's for less used areas. We have 3 phone lines here. One is SBC, one Vonage, and one Voipjet... One hangup is that I can't figure out how to pass through a voicemail waiting indication from SBC. This is important because my wife and her family all

What business IP phone to use
I have been struggling with this issue for about a year now. There were just too many IP phones to choose from at all sorts of price points and not enough information about any of them. Now I am looking at the situation again and if anything it has gotten worse. There are even more phones and all sorts of opinions. For every person that says phone x is great there is someone else complaining
