amd64 installworld fails on syscons/scrnmaps
Hello, I have an amd64 laptop on which I did a fresh csup to RELENG_7. I did the canonical "buildworld", "buildkernel", "installkernel" and so far so good. However, when I attempt to "installworld", I get: ===> share/syscons/scrnmaps (install) ./armscii8-2haik8.mk armscii8-2haik8.tmp uuencode armscii8-2haik8.tmp armscii8-2haik8 > armscii8-2haik8.scm uuencode: not found *** Error code 127 Stop in /usr/src/share/syscons/scrnmaps. *** Error code 1 The binary uuencode exists in /usr/bin, as do the files: armscii8-2hai...

State of Unicode collation support in FreeBSD?
[crossposted to -stable and -i18n, replies directed to -stable] Hi everyone, could someone point me to infos regarding Unicode collation support in FreeBSD? All I could find was https://wiki.freebsd.org/KonradJankowski/Collation but that page has not been changed in more than two years. Looking at sources of -current it doesn't look like those changes made it into the source tree yet.

STABLE/9 SMP ACPI suspend/resume - video mode not being restored
...restores the backlight. However, the video mode isn't restored. I have my console set to VGA_80x60 and the resume seems to set it up "wrong". I get half or so of each line displayed. A vidcontrol VGA_80x60 restores things to proper working order. Is there a shortcoming somewhere in syscons/ACPI video restore on -9 that doesn't properly restore the configured mode? Thanks again for all your hard work! Now that you've done that, I'll go off and work on fixing up ath(4) suspend/resume for PCI devices. :) Adrian

Information disclosure?
Hello, For some reason, I thought little about the "clear" command today.. Let's say a privileged user (root) logs on, edit a sensitive file (e.g, a file containing a password, running vipw, etc) .. then runs clear and logout. Then anyone can press the scroll-lock command, scroll back up and read the sensitive information.. Isn't "clear" ment to clear the

Long delay via Teliax
I'm testing Teliax tall free number line and I'm experiencing long delay about 1sec. during conversation. When I call myself over FWD the response is normal no delay or cut messages. When I call my number over FWD the is a long delay, welcome message usually cuts off few first words and during conversation my voice arrives after about 1sec. delay. Since, the 800-number is only accessible

Sipura SIP vs. IAX
I'm just curious why Sipura isn't using free IAX protocol with their devices instead of SIP? With IAX NAT traversal would have been easier, so why are they using SIP. Is there any politics in it? -- #Joseph
