Dear R user, I am trying to reproduce the results in Montgomery D.C (2001, chap 13, example 13-1). Briefly, there are three suppliers, four batches nested within suppliers and three determinations of purity (response variable) on each batch. It is a two stage nested design, where suppliers are fixed and batches are random. y_ijk=mu+tau_i+beta_j(nested in tau_i)+epsilon_ijk Here are the

I have looked for a new one online (In the UK using Maplin let me know if you know a better place.) becasue it would probbaly take too long to get one sent from China or the US and I need to get that station

Discrete Event Simulation problem
Hi All, I am attempting to simulation an inventory model on R and I am having some problems. I believe the problem is when I define my demand rate is stays constant throughout so when I do need to reorder the model does not recognise it as I have the initial supply arrival time set to infinity at the start as no order has been played but I have an if statement saying, if the level falls below a

Raid / dual Opteron power issues
Hi All, I've just started caring for a dual Opteron machine. It has a 3Ware 9500S-12 RAID controller, a Tyan S2882G3NR motherboard, 10 IBM 400GB disk drives, and a 650 watt power supply. It has been behaving itself quite nicely until recently. The poor behavior started when I upgraded the OS from CentOS 4.1 (32 bit) to Centos 4.1 (x86_64). When running in uniprocessor mode, the system

Power Cut
Dear All I am using a centos server for cdr billing and mediation device on a remote network. I am experiencing problem that I am suspicious it comes from main supply power cut at the remote site. The power supply to the remote site comes from battery charger that will be automatically switched in circuit under main supply power cut but cannot provide adequate power for more than 2 hours . I am

SSD support in C5 and C6
Hey everyone, My company is beginning to look at using SSD drives in our CentOS based servers. Does C5 and C6 support TRIM and other "required" functions for the SSD to operate? calculating correlation of a Supply/Demand measure and price change (in high frequency time series data)
Regarding "financial" data: I have a high frequency (1 minute) measure of supply/demand and I'd like to know if it has any influence on short term price changes (also 1 minute). Question: How do I calculate the correlation between this supply/demand measure and price changes (correctly)? Some facts about that data: The price changes and supply/demand measure are non-normal. Interface for package supplied random number generator
Hi, As you probably know, there is a problem with the interface for adding uniform random number generators in R (see by article in R News 5/2, November 2005). There exists a mechanism called "user-supplied" that allows users of R to run their own generator in R. However, there is no such mechanism for package writers. Those who want to add their own generators abuse

Is it mandatory to give power supply to TDM400Pcard
Is it not for a card with 4 FXO? I spent several hours the other day trying to figure out what I had done wrong and I ahd forgotten to connect the power cable. I setup several of these before and couldn't figure out why this one didn't work. It appears that's all it waqs. Without the power connecter the card will probe, and even appear to be working but when the lines ring (coming

tdm400p and dell 2600 poweredge
Hi all: I've been developing and testing on a tdm400p card and it's been going well. As you probably know, the tdm400p needs an ide power supply, but the dell poweredge 2600 that this card is destined for eventually has all the power supplied on the backplane with no ide cables. The thing is, on the motherboard in the server, there is an ide ribbon connector, and beside that, something

The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials
I have a different Unix userid for each project I'm working on, so I need to provide a different userid/password combination for each drive I map to my NT 4.0 SP3 system. But, whenever I try to supply a different userid in the "Connect As" box and hit "OK", I get the message: The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials Something I read in the

samba-tool max-pwd-age error
...ot None: if min_pwd_age == "default": min_pwd_age = 1 else: min_pwd_age = int(min_pwd_age) It checks if 'min_pwd_age' is supplied (not None) and does something if it is, though now I look at that code, it depends on the user supplying either 'default' or a number, there is nothing to check that what is supplied is valid. The user could supply anything, what does 'int(anything)' give you ? If 'min_pwd_age' is 'None', the code above will NOT be run. I initially supplied what I thought was the fix,...

Is it mandatory to give power supply toTDM400Pcard
That was my thought too. Even if it *does* work without it, there may be a reason internally you can't see why it is required. (Ex.
