What is the 32 GB 2.5-Inch SATA Solid State Drive?
Does anyone know about this device? SESX3Y11Z 32 GB 2.5-Inch SATA Solid State Drive with Marlin Bracket for Sun SPARC Enterprise T5120, T5220, T5140 and T5240 Servers, RoHS-6 Compliant This is from Sun''s catalog for the T5120 server. Would this work well as a separate ZIL device for ZFS? Is there any way I could use this in a T2000 server? The brackets appear to be

Changes to HOWTO and maybe Samba Guide for Solaris patches
...ganization of their web site a lot over the years, and I just noticed that a URL included in the HOWTO is broken now. Perhaps there are others as well. In section 39.6.2 "Winbind on Solaris 9" (p. 503), Solaris 9 users are directed to download a patch from the following URL: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/findPatch.pl?patchId=112960;rev=14 But the Sun site redirects users to a newer, longer, mch uglier URL: http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/advsearch.do?collection=PATCH&type=collec tions&max=50&language=en&queryKey5=112960;rev=14&toDocument=yes (Yeah, that...

/etc/urandom and Solaris
I feel very silly asking this, because I saw the answer to this question one time and can't remember what it was. OpenSSH uses /dev/urandom or /dev/random which Solaris does not have (verified with a call to the Sun software folks). How do I make OpenSSH happy with a Solaris substitute for /etc/urandom? j4200 drive carriers
apparently if you don''t order a J4200 with drives, you just get filler sleds that won''t accept a hard drive. (had to look at a parts breakdown on sunsolve to figure this out -- the docs should simply make this clear.) it looks like the sled that will accept a drive is part #570-1182. anyone know how i could order 12 of these?

Crossbow integration with Solaris 10/08
Hi, >From what I have read, the create-vnic feature in dladm is only available within the context of crossbow...? Specifically, what I am wondering is whether it is at all possible to successfully install crossbow on top of Sun''s "Standard/sunsolve supported" Solaris 10/08 rather than OpenSolaris, per. Se.... Is this at all feasible? Many thanks in advance.. Best regards, Joe

ZFS Web administration interface
I don''t seem to have access to the web administration interface. It worked fine up to svn_B37, but B38 and B39 don''t appear to have it deployed. I can start the web console server "/usr/sbin/smcwebserver start" and log in as root but ZFS does not appear in the list of applications. Is there something additional I need to do? Sparc?
My 12 year old wants to learn more about servers and has memorized a lot of commands like ls, chmod, du, etc. He wants to have his own domain and server on the web and I have enough Static IP's, so why not foster this interest. I have an old ultra sparc 5. Are there any CentOS versions that support Sparc? Or recommendations? I know OpenBSD does, but I am more versed in Solaris and versions
