...he covariance matrix for the fixed effects." I've been able to make use of all of that except for the 'suitably constructed model-matrix' part. I've looked through some other threads on this topic, but am still a little in the dark as to what I'd need to do to construct a suitable matrix. I would like to use the least squares means to develop parameter estimates for a parametric ROC analysis, as described by Mithat Gonen's book (Analyzing Receiver Operating Characteristic Curves with SAS, 2007). Any suggestions on references that would explain how to go about constru...

how many records for suitable regression
...to know if you have enough data for a regression study. I remember you must have more data than parameters to obtain, but I'd like to know if there was something more sophisticated. [LLVMdev] open source multithreaded garbage collector suitable for LLVM applications?
Hello All Does any know about some opensource multithread-compatible (or concurrent) garbage collector library, if possible suitable for LLVM? (I mean that I want several mutator threads; the collector can be stoptheworld or concurrent ....) H.Boehm's conservative GC is multithread compatible, but seems quite slow (allocation is about the time of a C malloc). And it is well known that coding concurrent GC is quite hard,...

Suitability of R for Algorithm simulations
Greetings, Sorry for the basic question, but I am trying to find out if R is a suitable platform for what I want to do... I am interested in creating simulations of distributed algorithms (i.e. team formation, Byzantine Generals , P2P communication modeling, mobile networks) that would be represented in GUIs. I would like to be able to instantiate an object for each node in my sim...
