[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.8 and MMX
This thread confuses me. I thought Chris said that LLVM 2.8 will not lower generic vectors to MMX because it breaks x87 code, and I didn't see an answer to your question about a switch to tell the code generator otherwise. However, you're complaining that MMX performance is subpar, even though LLVM 2.8 isn't supposed to generate MMX instructions. Can someone clarify the situation for me? Theora blurriness in Windows players
...riticism of libtheora's quality compared with some H.264 video. I thought to just test VLC first, but when I noticed it again in SMplayer, I just decided to test all the players that I could find. After this test, I am much dismayed to find that the vast majority of users will be experiencing subpar Theora performance, as outside of Firefox & Google Chrome, the blurriness appears to be present. I am fairly sure that all of the above-mentioned media players, aside from Firefox, use some form of libav*. However, I thought Google Chrome likewise used an ffmpeg-based video library, which I t...

Nvidia 8400 Gs not detected correctly
I'm running an Nvidia geforce 8400 GS 512 Mb card, but when i go into the oblivion options, under the Graphics adapter tab it shows me Geforce 8300 Gs whcih is a motherboard which I assume has some sort of GPU onboard. This would explain the subpar framerates im getting.

ATI propietary drivers = wine 3d acceleration?
Hi, I've got 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card and using propietary drivers (everything seems to be ok), while trying to play a very low graphics game through wine it's laggy and everything sucks, so it looks like there is no graphic acceleration. Other 3d native games run very good. So my question is: Ati propietary drivers let me play wine games or is anything wrong with my

Imap daemons for CentOS 6 (other then cyrus-imapd)
Are there any imap daemons (besides cyrus-imapd). cyrus-imapd is appearently not compatible with postfix + procmail. I need an imap daemon that will work with a postfix + procmail system. -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Linux Administration Services heller at deepsoft.com -- Webhosting

Extension buttons
I've downloaded the entire archive of articles and searched through them for an answer on this, but I haven't come across one yet. I'm looking to replace a small phone system in my church with Asterisk, and I'm stuck looking for phones. I know that the staff are going to want a button for their commonly-called extensions, but I'm having trouble finding phones that have, say, 10

LLVM on IRIX
Greetings LLVM Developers, My name is Kazuo, I’m the head of the largest Silicon Graphics IRIX community on the internet. I’m approaching this mailing list to see if any MIPS developers who hang out here are interested in developing the LLVM/Clang Compiler system for IRIX. There’s a growing need as GCC removed support for us from 4.8, over six years ago and since then we’ve absolutely languished

Seagate ST32000542AS and ZFS perf
Hi, Does anyone use Seagate ST32000542AS disks with ZFS? I wonder if the performance is not that ugly as with WD Green WD20EARS disks. Thanks, -- Piotr Jasiukajtis | estibi | SCA OS0072 http://estseg.blogspot.com

Runnable R packages
Dear all, I?m working as a data scientist in a major tech company. I have been using R for almost 20 years now and there?s one issue that?s been bugging me of late. I apologize in advance if this has been discussed before. R has traditionally been used for running short scripts or data analysis notebooks, but there?s recently been a growing interest in developing full applications in the

However, if you get postfix to deliver directly via lmtp, you can take advantage of SIEVE to filter your mail, which is quite powerful. Which is better? Microsoft Exchange 2016 or Linux-based SMTP Servers?
Good evening from Singapore, I am torn between deploying Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Linux-based SMTP servers like sendmail, postfix, qmail and exim. Relative ease of installation and configuration is an important consideration factor. Microsoft Exchange 2016, Domain Controller, and Active Directory are relatively easy to install and configure. Linux-based SMTP servers are extremely difficult
