The problem is, that after the drop, I can''t drag the element, because it is behind the target. Where is my error? Perhaps someone can help me. streaming server on a virtual machine.
I need to installa a streaming server for live videos and for video on demand. My choice is red5. Do you think I can use a xen virtual machine to run a streaming service? Or it is better not to virtualize? Sorry for my bad english. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

how to optimize CentOS XEN dom0?
Hi, I have a problematic CentOS XEN server and hope someone could point me in the right direction to optimize it a bit. The server runs on a Core2Quad 9300, with 8GB RAM (max motherboard can take, 1U chassis) on an Intel motherboard with a 1TB SATA HDD. dom0 is set to 512MB limit with a few small XEM VM''s running: root@zaxen01:[~]$ xm list Name ID

behavioural testing of puppet manifests with cucumber-puppet
Hi, I''d like to announce a little tool I have written, called cucumber- puppet. It supports writing behavioural tests for your puppet manifest, using cucumber. This allows for BDD-style manifest development and fearless refactorings. http://blog.nistu.de/cucumber_puppet_0_0_3_released.html Let me know what you think! cheers, Nikolay -- You received this message because you are

Best way to use iSCSI in domU
Hello, We need to use iSCSI in some of our domUs. By the moment, iSCSI is not for system filesystem, but for data filesystem. I am wondering what is the best way to use it. Is it better to configure it in dom0 and then attach the device to the domU? Or is it better to configure it directly in the domU? I am thinking that if we configure it in the dom0, then we can''t share that iscsi

best practices in using shared storage for XEN Virtual Machines and auto-failover?
Hi all, Can anyone pleas tell me what would be best practice to use shared storage with virtual machines, especially when it involved high availability / automated failover between 2 XEN servers? i.e. if I setup 2x identical XEN servers, each with say 16GB RAM, 4x 1GB NIC''s, etc. Then I need the xen domU''s to auto failover between the 2 servers if either goes down (hardware

Deprecating the mocking framework?
I saw in one of Dave C.''s comments to a ticket that "our current plan is to deprecate the mocking framework." I hadn''t heard anything about that, but then again I haven''t paid super close attention to the list. Are we planning on dumping the mock framework in favor of using Mocha (or any other framework one might want to plug in?). Pat

puppet freezes on FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE
Hi, i just want to ask whether somebody else has this problem of mine and if it can be solved. Many of my ( 30+ ) puppet installation freeze up after some time. The process is waiting for some private futex, but it stays like that forever. This is what strace looks like when the problem occures: [pid 29173] futex(0x3d35ce7a84, FUTEX_WAIT_BITSET_PRIVATE|FUTEX_CLOCK_REALTIME, 43406739,

contextstack overflow
Hi all, I´m an absolute beginner in R programming…I have a really long R-code with many variables. When I run the program I always get an error at the same place called “contextstack overflow”. Does anybody know what to do in this case? Are there so strict limitations in R? If yes, is it possible to handle it? How? Thank you for any help! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Best Practices for PV Disk IO?
I was wondering if anyone''s compiled a list of places to look to reduce Disk IO Latency for Xen PV DomUs. I''ve gotten reasonably acceptable performance from my setup (Dom0 as a iSCSI initiator, providing phy volumes to DomUs), at about 45MB/sec writes, and 80MB/sec reads (this is to a IET target running in blockio mode). As always, reducing latency for small disk operations

What NAS device(s) do you use? And why?
If you use any NAS (or a SAN) devices, what do you use? And I''m referring more to larger scale network storage than your home PC or home theater system. We''ve had very good experiences with our NetGear ReadyNAS devices but I''m in the market for something new. The NetGear''s aren''t the cheapest ones around but they do what it says on the box. Linux DomU vs Bare Metal performance issues
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I''m trying to diagnose a reasonably large performance drop between two ostensibly similar servers; one running CentOS 5.5 on bare metal, the other running Fedora 14 as a Xen DomU under CentOS 5.5 (Xen 3.1.2-194.26.1.el5) I have a pair of older Dell PowerEdge 1750 servers, each with 4GB ram and 2x 2.4GHz Xeon CPU''s with

Dear all, I have a question concerning the p-value. When running coxph I get a p-value = 0. Can this be true? Why aren?t there decimal points? Is there a way to find out the exact p-value? Here is the output: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Call: coxph(formula = Surv(start, stop, status) ~ Albumin_gproL, data = dial,

Creating a paravirtualized guest with Xen 3.4.1 and Centos 5.3 (64bit)
Hi, I have a set of 32bit HVM images running fine under Xen 3.2.1 and Xen 3.4.1. Due to performance issues with the fully virtualized setup, I would like to migrate one of those images to a paravirtualized image to compare the network performance. As I do not have a Xen-aware kernel for that VM, I thought the best would be to provide one from outside. Sounds like an easy task, doesn''t

Hardware performance question : Disk RPM speed & Xen Performance
Hello, I am a relatively new user of Xen virtualization, so you''ll have to forgive the simplistic nature of my question. I have a Dell R410 poweredge server (dual quad core CPUs + 32gb ram). I plan on utilizing this server with Xen. The ''dilemma'' I am having is whether or not to replace the 2x 500gb 7.2K RPM drives that came with the server with faster 300gb
