Hi everybody, I've upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.2.3a. I've downloaded the zip file - unzipped it in /root/tmp/Samba - run "./configure" - run "make" - run "make install". Everything went well. Restarted Linux and checked the version in swat. It still was 2.2.1. Samba was running when I installed 2.2.3a. What did I do wrong?? Thanks Kris Vandaele Adecco

It is working fine, winbind also, when i do wbinfo -u then i get all the names from my nt domain also Wbinfo -g, getent passwd are working fine too. Hello, I downloaded the source, followed the instaructions to the T (make, install, etc...). Everything seemed to go fine, I think the compilation and installation were flawless (after all, I have compiled 2.2.5 sucessfully, and havent done anything to this box as far as removing software libraries), there were no reported errors. The install portion even had the messages saying all went well,

I lost my bookmarks to the samba binaries compiled for Mandrake 9.0. I'd like to mess around with the 3.0 stuff. I remember there were 2 ftp sites that stayed pretty current. I'd like to add them to URPMI so I can update easily. Thanks Jim

I've just done a update of Samba from 2.2.4 to 2.2.6. After installing everything it says some files were modified, ie smb.conf, and gives you the option to view the changes. It removed all my shared folders, removed settings from 'global' and changed lines for cups and other bits and pieces.
