Back when grub2 oozed into Fedora, I made a small page, both as a reminder
for myself and to stop repeating answers on the Fedora forums.
You probably don't need it, but just in case.

I'm going to add that a quick look through pkgs.org shows that CentOS-7x
does have packages for fcitx-pinyin and a few other Chinese engines, and it
might be worth considering making the switch. It seems (general impression
on my part) to be replacing ibus in a lot of...

x2go on CentOS6
Has anyone managed to get the x2go server working on CentOS 6.7?
I started testing x2go from EPEL under 6.6, and it worked well. Then I didn't use it in 6 months plus, eventually upgraded the machine to 6.7, and it's no longer working. Both Windows and Linux clients error out with "Connection failed. 0: Event not found."
A Linux client run with the debug option reports:

No joy, unfortunately. Even reinstalling x2go from scratch doesn't help.

Installing support for Chinese text in Centos 7
I have just done a minimal installation of Centos7 followed by X Windows and the Mate desktop on a workstation. Although the default language is English, I would like to be able to write Chinese text in various applications.
I seem to remember this was very easy to do in Centos 6 and Gnome: possibly only requiring only a simple 'yum groupinstall "Chinese Support"' after which I

I'm not an expert by any means, but I use letsencrypt (mostly for testing)
and it's always worked for me in FreeBSD with Firefox, without any special
effort on my part.
You can try https://srobb.net which is using letsencrypt as its cert.

Screen
Hey
I like to use Ctrl+A and Ctrl+E a lot to navigate my insane big bash one
liners but this is incompatible with Screen which has a binding to Ctrl-A.
Is it possible to move the screen binding so I can have the best of both
worlds?

I was a bit angered by the OS X lock-in, so I decided to replace it with
Linux. Unfortunately the hardware didn't play well with CentOS (KDE
would freeze with both the nouveau and the nvidia driver), but here's
what I managed to do.

Another (these days neo) mutt lover. I'll take this time to spam my own
http://srobb.net/mutt.html page.
Mutt does work with gmail. Hrrm, I'm looking I see I do have the password
used in my msmtprc file. If one just uses a very simple muttrc file file,
it will also work but require the password.

[Slightly OT] Use CentOS to create a bootable Mac OS X DVD from dmg file?
Hi,
Sorry if this is only half-CentOS-related.
In my office, I'm running CentOS on all my systems (server, workstation,
laptop, sandbox PCs). A colleague brought me her MacBook Pro to upgrade
it from OS X 10.5.7 to 10.11.6.
I downloaded the 5.8 GB dmg file and now I wonder how to create a
bootable DVD with this using only Linux tools.
1. Can I simply burn this as a data DVD with K3B?
2.

Netflix, CentOS-6 and Docker for the lazy
...st month, so thought there might be some interest in it.
Currently, CentOS-6.x's version of nss is too old to work with Netflix.
Last month, there were a few posts mentioning the possibility of running a
more recent version of chrome in Docker, so I made my own lazy person's
howto.

AFAIK, your page exists forever. This is how I first learned LVM: from
your page. (Not that I use LVM much, but whenever I need to do something
LVM, I'm confident I can - using your webpage).
Thanks a lot!!
