XP Pro - Domain Login ... great trauma and sorrow
I really think this is a Windows problem, but since my very good friend Bill refuses to return my calls ...
The client is WinXP Professional
The server is RedHat 7.1 with SAMBA 2.2.2-8
I have rtfm several times both the ENCRYPTION and PDC-Howto, and I think I have implemented all of the requisite registry and passwd/smbpasswd/smb.conf settings.
The client will happily JOIN the domain, but my

Dell PowerEdge 860, Sangoma A108
Hello everyone,
I'm considering getting me a quad-core Dell PowerEdge 860 to run Asterisk.
Anyone else using this model? Any tales of woe and sorrow I should know
about?
Then, in a couple of weeks, I'm thinking of getting a Sangoma A108 and
giving that a try. Same question with that one - any quirks I should be
aware of?

I have been noticing for a certain time that the Win 2K with Service
Pack 4 wasnt able to save its profile to a Samba PDC. Is this a known

I am using 3.0.11 on Fedora Core 3.

[LLVMdev] AliasAnalysis update interface - a tale of sorrow and woe
Greetings folks,
As I'm working on refactoring the AA interfaces in LLVM to prepare for the
new pass manager, I keep hitting issues. Some of the complexity that is
hitting this stems from the update API, which consists of three virtual
functions:
deleteValue(Value *V)
copyValue(Value *From, Value *To)
addEscapingUse(Use &U)
These interfaces are *very* rarely called. Here are the only

Multiple Rails Apps in 1 Virtual Host on Apache 1.3
After attempting this on my own using the Apache "Alias" directive I
noticed that it did not work in all cases:
http://myserver/app1/ (this worked)
http://myserver/app1 (this failed, I won''t bore you with the rewrite
logs of why)
This led me to the following article

Removing a file that starts with dashes
How can I remove this file?
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28707 Mar 31 12:31 --backup=numbered
I've tried a few different methods, but most attempts interprets the
file name as a switch (which it doesn't understand).

Help, problems with permissions
Hi
I am replacing my current mail system, using Exim/Postgres/WU-IMAP to
another host using Dovecot.
Everything has gone well, until I have tried to access some test mails
via POP.
The error message I am getting is

[LLVMdev] RFC: New EH representation for MSVC compatibility
We already have something like what you describe in the form of mingw support. It runs on Windows and handles exceptions using a DWARF-style personality function and (I think) an LLVM-provided implementation of the libc++abi library.
What this doesn't do is provide interoperability with MSVC-compiled objects. For instance, you can't throw an exception from MSVC-compiled code and catch

factor analysis (pca): how to get the 'communalities'?
Dear expe-R-ts,
I try some test data for a factorAnalysis (resp. pca) in the sense of Prof.
Ripley's MASS ? 11.1, p. 330 ff., just to prepare myself for an analysis of my
own empirical data using R (instead of SPSS).

Installing texlive dependencies
Hello ALL!
I am running Fedora 16 x86_64. Due to some dubious problems, that i
couldn't resolve, with the TeXLive (2007, which is a default), I removed
it. That removed R as well, and some other dependent packages. Then, I
installed TeXLive 2011 from CTAN. However, when I wanted to install R,
from Fedora's repositories, it asks for some TeX dependencies (for
example, tex-preview,

Watch a file during the day and just report changes, replace on a scheduleat night if chnged during the day: needs to be a type?
Hi,
In our dev/int environemnts, our user base wants to be able to change
managed files at will during the day but be notified via email of
changes that happen.
At night they want the files replaced to their known good state if
there were changed.
I tried to do this with a custom function that wraps two file types,
one that just watches checksum, the other that does a reset of content

Also here are a few other bitrate-related questions:
1. Does average bitrate mode ==> variable bitrate mode?

Best way to push Squat forward
Timo, you mentioned you're getting tired of fighting Squat bugs lately.
Does that mean you know all the bugs, and just need time to find and fix
them?
Or should instead I try harder to find bugs by using Dovecot 1.1 on a
daily basis, and then sending you copies of mails that break it, like
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-October/026179.html ?

Node CPU Utilization
Hi,
While getting a hardware node''s CPU utilization, I''m getting values
between .0 and 1.0. These values however do not seem to correspond to
load on the domains themselves. I have a program that print these
values once a second for all cpus on the node:
import XenAPI
import time
session = None
def print_cpu_utilization():

RPMS falling back to /usr/kerberos/bin/rsh
The 2.1.0p2 and 2.1.0p3 RPMS try to fall back to the r* commands in
/usr/kerberos/bin. I'm not sure under which distribution that path is
valid, but it just gives an error on my machines (RedHat 6.1 and 6.2).
It's no big deal to tweak the SRPM and build my own packages, but it does
make me wonder if the fallback path should be configurable.
