"zpool import -f" not forceful enough?
...checksum_table[ZIO_CHECKSUM_LABEL].ci_func[0](buf, size, &zc); and I''m assuming [0] is the correct endianness, since afterwards I saw it come up with "zpool import". Unfortunately, I can''t import it. Bridging firewall with snv_125 and ipfilter
Has anyone gotten a transparent firewall working? I''m using snv_125 on an IBM x346 (snv_130 goes into endless boot loops on this hardware). I can create a working bridge with dladm, but can''t stop packets, even with "block in quick all". That stops packets on my management interface bge0, but not on the bridge. :( tim at ghost:~# ifconfig -a lo0: flags=2001000849<...

How to destroy your system in funny way with ZFS
Hi all, I installed another OpenSolaris (snv_129) in VirtualBox 3.1.0 on Windows because snv_130 doesn''t boot anymore after installation of VirtualBox guest additions. Older builds before snv_129 were running fine too. I like some features of this OS, but now I end with something funny. I installed default snv_129, installed guest additions -> reboot, set ''noexec_user_sta...

Zfs upgrade freezes desktop
On snv_129, a zfs upgrade (*not* a zpool upgrade) from version 3 to version 4 caused the desktop to freeze - no response to keyboard or mouse events and clock not updated. ermine% uname -a SunOS ermine 5.11 snv_129 i86pc i386 i86pc ermine% zpool upgrade This system is currently running ZFS pool version 22. The following pools are out of date, and can be upgraded. After being upgraded, these

zfs destroy hangs machine if snapshot exists- workaround found
...e. No respective messages could be found in logs. The issue was reproducible. The same happened for ''zfs destroy pool/dataset at snapshot'' Thus, the conclusion was that the snapshot was indeed the problem. Solution: After trying several things, including updating the system to snv_130 and snv_131, I had the idea to restore the dataset to the snapshot before doing another zfs destroy attempt. ''zfs rollback pool/dataset at snapshot'' ''zfs unmount -f pool/dataset'' ''zfs destroy -r pool/dataset'' Et voil?! It worked. Conclusion:...

Running on Dell hardware?
I have a Dell R710 which has been flaky for some time. It crashes about once per week. I have literally replaced every piece of hardware in it, and reinstalled Sol 10u9 fresh and clean. I am wondering if other people out there are using Dell hardware, with what degree of success, and in what configuration? The failure seems to be related to the perc 6i. For some period around the time
