"mantel.haenszel.test for trend in S-plus doesn't work i R"
Dear R'ers, When I used S-plus i wrote a small program for a Mantel-Haenszel test for trend (I think it worked). Unfortunately I can't get it working in R. It appears as if my use of 'el' is the problem but I can't sort it out. Error in apply(array, c(, 2, 3), function(el) el * 1:s) : argument is missing, with no default Further down in the program I use 'el'

logistic regression - glm() - example in Dalgaard's book ISwR
Dear R-list members, I would like to pose a question about the use and results of the glm() function for logistic regression calculations. The question is based on an example provided on p. 229 in P. Dalgaard, Introductory Statistics with R, 2nd. edition, Springer, 2008. By means of this example, I was trying to practice the different ways of entering data in glm(). In his book, Dalgaard

Mongrels 1.0.1 falling asleep w/ Rails 1.2
I''m a bit surprised I can''t find anything about this in the mailing list archives. Basically since Mongrel 1.0.1 I''ve had Mongrels fall asleep without any real cause. A deep sleep, actually more like a coma. The mongrel in question (I''m using a cluster of three) can not be revived. A cluster::stop, then cluster::start is nessesary. A ::restart would not

[LLVMdev] Buildbots: Apology and Explanation
Hi Bill, > ... Still, people would break the builds and let > things go for hours or days at a time. don't forget the time-zone effect. I regularly get build failures in the morning, presumably because someone in the US committed just before going to bed. I guess they are happily snoring away when the build-bots (and humans) start complaining! So when hours go by without a fix, it

[LLVMdev] Buildbots: Apology and Explanation
I need to apologize to many of you, especially Gabor, for my vitriol over buildbot breakages. I get very enraged by breakages that occur over long periods of time. Here's an attempt to explain why I fly off the handle at these. Before we had buildbots, a random patch would break the system. It would sometimes take a whole day to determine which patch broke it. I came up with the

Roomies @ RailsConf Chicago
..... I''m looking for anyone who would be willing to share their hotel room at RailsConf on Thursday and Saturday nights. Due to prior committments, I won''t be there on Friday night. Will of course split the cost for those nights. I''m a likeable guy who doesn''t snore! If you are willing to share one or both nights, please drop me a note at lumbar@gmail.com. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Clean sheet, PHP/Java to a Rails core via <insert method>, but secure.
...ble. I have my eye on the restful authentication and I''m exploring that this weekend I suspect. Does anybody have any pointers or tips, for the above scenario or code snippets to get me moving again, I''ve not done much integration in this way, save web services in java with wsdl/snore, just can''t seem to wrap my head around the ruby way, which is frustrating me a bit... Thanks for reading, if you''ve got any questions, please ask. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups &...

When someone helps you, at least let them know if the problem is resolved or not
I'll keep this brief because I don't want to come across like any more of an a$$ than I absolutely have to, especially since I know I've blown my stack before..... Gentlemen (and Ladies, if you're out there), If someone gives you advice on this list, and ESPECIALLY if they give you advice offlist, have the courtesy to (AT THE LEAST) to let them know when/if you get your question
