i didn't find anything about tagging flac files as surround files. i think there should some possibility to tell the player how to play a multi-channel file (how to map the different channels to the speakers or if there some decode is needed, like for ambisonic files). any idea how to implement it?

OggEnc to stdout
This is a bit of a worry. I did not receive either of Michael's e-mails, only this one from Smoerk. I had to read the archives to read the reply. Is it just me? I'm having trouble reading stderr, it just doesn't seem to work in Windows for some reason. I'll wait for progress functionality when a decent DLL is available. Cheers, Ross Levis. moerk wrote: >On Thu, 21 Feb...

multi-channel / ambisonics
when i encode i multi channel file, does flac encode every channel seperatly or does is look for similarities between channels? the documentation says: INTER-CHANNEL DECORRELATION In the case of stereo input, once the data is blocked it is optionally passed through an inter-channel decorrelation stage. The left and right channels are converted to center and side channels through the following

new CUESHEET metadata block
Hi all, I started up a discussion on Hydrogen Audio about a new FLAC metadata block for storing cuesheets. This is really the last missing piece in archiving CDs. If it's not too inconvenient, try replying on the forum there (not sure if you
