Win2k oplocks and you
...onds with a 'Locking AndX Request' which the
Windows box acknowledges. There is a 30 second delay which is followed
by traffic showing the traffic related to the expiration of the timeout.

...e zillions of problems (eg. oplock breaks (oplock is now disabled); the client and server
having different ideas of what files are open; multiple connections from the same client; losing
connection on the middle of reading/writing files; etc.).
Some of these problems I can reproduce.
I can send smbdumps to whoever would be so kind as to investigate this problem.
When opening whatever.hlp with winhlp32, the user gets a read error message after scrolling
down.
Some mystical (for me) events happen:
The client sends SMBtrans2 with file=whatever.tmp.in2 and whatever.gid.in2. These get

win2000-terminal-server: access-problem to samba server

i logged the failing connection-attempt between terminalserver-client and
samba-server with tcpdump (smb-version). in the reply of the server it
says:
SMBError = ERROR: Unknown error (109,49152).
perhaps someome can halp.

Can't display ".." with the p8 release
Hello,
I ask this question last week but I got no response :
I have installed the 1.9.18p8 release on my HP9000 ( HP-UX
10.20 ). I use the same smb.conf than with the p2 release . I have now
a problem with the Windows 3.11 clients : In the subdirectories of
each share, I can't display the " .. " root directory ( but it works
). Is it a bug

A regression in 3.0.25rc3?
Dear Samba team,
I have installed the above release of samba and I am seeing the same
problem as decribed in this old posting when I try to add permissions to
printers:

Interesting that this was last seen in 3.0.23. 3.0.24 behaves as
expected.
