Can't display ".." with the p8 release

Hello,

        I ask this question last week but I got no response :

             I have installed the 1.9.18p8 release on my HP9000 ( HP-UX
     10.20 ). I use the same smb.conf than with the p2 release . I have now
     a problem with the Windows 3.11 clients : In the subdirectories of
     each share, I can't display the " .. " root directory ( but
it works
     ). Is it a bug or just an error in my smb.conf ?

Can't display ".." with the p8 release

Hi Jean-Fran?ois

There's an option to handle this behavior and it's probably what causes
your trouble (since I didn't see this option in the configuration
extract you attached).

The option is called 'hide dot files' and it's default is
'yes'. Simply
put 'hide dot files = no' in your configuration file and these entries
will be back again.

     Thanks for your answer , but I have "Hide dot files = no" option
in my
     configuration file. In my mail , you can see it in the global section
     . After I put it in each share section , but it's does not work .

smbdump

Does anyone know of a tool called smbdump?  I have been told it is a
"sniffer like" utility that breaks down smb packets into a more user
readable form.  Any information on the tool, or where I can get it
would be appreciated.
