Kodak image scroll slagging
Hi,
I have installed Wine 1.1.17 in Ubuntu 8.10.
I have installed in Celeron 1100 MHz (256 ram).
When I try to scroll the image in Kodak image control in Vb application, it takes time to move, like slagging effect.
Do I have to do any display driver related problem. As in same pc in WXp
it does not take time to scroll.
Thanks

Asterisk on Debian Lenny with timerfd
Hello All,
I'm sure this has been talked about and based on some searching of archives,
I'd discovered that to be able to use timerfd, one needs to have a kernel
version >=2.6.27? Is this true?
If yes, then is there anyone who's got it working in Lenny 5.0.7? Do I need
to download and build the linux kernel (currently at 2.6.37) from scratch
and get access to the TimerFD source?

smooth non cumulative baseline hazard in Cox model
Hi everyone.
There's been several threads on baseline hazard in Cox model but I think
they were all on cumulative baseline hazard,
for instance

"basehaz" in package survival seems to do a cumulative hazard.

nevada_41 and zfs disk partition
I just installed build 41 of Nevada on a SunBlade 1500 with 2GB of ram. I wanted to check out zfs since the delay of S10U2 I really could not wait any longer :)
I installed it on my system and created a zpool out of an approximately 40GB disk slice. I then wanted to build a version of thunderbird that contains a local patch that we like. So I download the source tar ball. I try to untar it on the

Re: Digium Website Update: Asterisk Business Edition
Browsing through the new website...
* Q - Does Asterisk Business Edition contain any additional features, fixes,

* A - Digium remains committed to the open source model, and has based
Asterisk Business Edition entirely on the open source tree.
However, no single release of the Open Source version corresponds

VoipJet Terms of Service
I've heard good things about VoipJet here, so I was going to set up an
account. Then I noticed their Terms of Service here:
https://www.voipjet.com/tos.php
Several things there are very concerning to me, and I'm interested in
what other people here think of them.

A rails app server, maybe?
Hi all.
Like many of us, I''m currently struggling with Rails deployment. Like
maybe only a few of us, I''m responsible not for one or two webapps but
dozens. Currently, we deploy them as war files using JBoss'' hot
deployment feature, which amounts to copying a war file to a directory
monitored by JBoss. Undeploying the app amounts to removing it from
the directory.

A challenge from a CMS implementer
Hey guys
RoR evangelists keep telling us that they have the #1 framework for
developing webapps. OK, but show us something that works and is useful
to many people out there. I could be wrong, but it doesn''t seem as if
there is anything that qualifies, as yet?
So I''ve got a little challenge for you: come up with a decent plugin
WYSIWYG visual editor for CMS. There are several

ZFS and Linux
Hello,
I believe that ZFS and it''s concepts is truly revolutionary to the
point that I no longer see any OS as modern if it does not have
comparable storage functionality. Therefore I think that file
system/disk manager with similar qualities should be written for Linux.
Does Sun have plans to dual license ZFS as GPL so it can be ported to
native Linux?
If not, is it legal to write

Any reason not to further restrict the action names hidden by default?
A couple of years ago, no objections were voiced to a proposed patch
of ActionController that would allow controllers to have methods with
the same names as Object''s methods (currently,
ActionController::Base.hidden_actions, as called by action_methods,
prevents this).
Such a change is of interest to me since I just blew some time
figuring out why rails wasn''t finding a
