adding [markdown] to the email subject lines for markdown-discuss
Hi All,
I was wondering what people thought to the idea of getting "[markdown]"
added to the subject lines of all the mails to the markdown mailing list?
It would certainly help me out with my email organisation.
Many thanks

While I empathize with your predicament, I generally prefer not to have
expletives in my inbox. Also, what has this to do with markdown?

attribute blocks for definition lists
Hello,
As I am using markdown to write documentation, I am often tempted to make
links to terms in definition lists.
Since this is not possible for now (at least in php markdown extra), I was
wondering if this could be a common addition in major implementation
supporting definition lists.
the syntax would be
term {#id}
: definition
This syntax tries to follows current convention and

regression and lmer
Dear all,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
I am reviewing a research where the analyst(s) are using a linear
regression model. The dependent variable (DV) is a continuous measure.
The independent variables (IVs) are a mixture of linear and categorical
variables.
The
author investigates whether performance (DV - continuous linear) is a
function of age (continuous IV1 -

subset problem (reducing from six to two levels)
Hi all,
I have got a seemingly simple problem (I am an R starter) with subsetting my
data set, but cannot figure out the solution: I want to subset a data set
from six to two levels, so that all analyses are done only with these two
remaining levels.
I tried
TOTAL<-read.delim('total.csv',header=T)
SUBSET.OF.TOTAL<-subset(TOTAL, FactorX %in% c("Level1","Level2"))

stuck with affy / limma
Hi,
I have a question concerning the analysis of some affymetrix chips. I
downloaded some of the data from GEO GSE11324 (see below). In doing so I'm
stuck after I identified the probesets with significant changes. I have
problems in assigning probeset specific gene names as well as getting the
genomic coordinates. Furthermore I have no clue how to deal with the fact,
that most genes have

Problem with binding data-frames
Hello,
I'm having a problem concerning r-binding datasets.
I have six datasets, from six different plates, and two different days.
I want to combine these datasets together for analysis. Datasets from
day 2, have all the same columns than datasets from day 1. However in
addition, there are few columns more in day 2. Thus, using rbind for
this, results a error, because the objects are not the

Multiple graphs
Hi,
I wrote a simple master function, run(), that has inside six qplot
functions. The goal is to type run() and have all six graphs appear as
separate windows so that I can copy them into PowerPoint for a client.
When I type run(), only the last graph appears, the first five
apparently being overwritten. How do I get all six in separate windows,
ready for copying?
By the way, is the a way
