PDA as source client
Has anybody used anything other than a PC as a source for icecast2? Are PDAs powerfull enough? I know vorbis encoding takes a signifigant amount of CPU power, but I've been able to do it on 4 year old PCs. Does a 206MHz Intel StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor have as much power as a 200 Mhz Pentium? I'm thinking Compaq iPaq, running Familiar Linux and IceS, would make a nice portable

dsa keys & ssh-agent
Ok... I just kludged dsa key support into the ssh-agent that comes with openssh-2.1.1p4. Its ugly and conforms to no standard (I could find no signifigant mention of it in the IETF drafts) but it does seem to work. If anybodys interested in it, I'll clean up the code and post. For now I'm going to sleep. Oh yeah.. thanks Damien Miller for pointing out that SSL add_all_algorithms bit,

Samba - Windows 2000 Client Speed
I've been running Samba v 2.07 for over a year on a small sub network with excellent results. Win NT 4.0, Win 98, and Win 95 machines all connected properly, and transfer speeds and reaction time is quite good. One of the Win NT machines was just upgraded to run Windows 2000. The connectivity still works, but I noticed a severe degredation in transfer speeds to and from the Windows 2000

Multinomial logistic regression
Is it possible to use function "glm" in case when my outcome variable has 5 different classes? I have seen examples only when using binomial outcome variable. What about using function "multinom"? How do I to get the signifigance and the confidence levels of the coefficients and the value of goodness of the model with this function? Thank You for Your help! -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Multinomial-logistic-regression-tp4667923.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.co...

aov function syntax
Hello, I have a simple question about using the aov function syntax (ie. * + or :) for the interaction of 2 factors. I have read the help files, and researched other sites, and have included my source files. My goal is to measure the signifigance of the interaction between population and condition (aka. population:condition). I can't seem to figure it out. 1. In the first example the significance of population:condition works with the "allData" but not with the "studentData." Can you please explain why it fails and...

PATCH: sftp-server logging.
This is another take on logging for sftp-server. Given the number of private email requests I've received for this patch, I assume there is signifigant enough interest to request it be reviewed for inclusion into the release. The patch is against 3.1p1, and is completely disabled by default. To enable logging, one must use compile time directives (-DSFTP_LOGGING). This was done due to prior

Looking for docs on adjusting txgain/rxgain
I am looking for docs on how to diagnose and adjust the rx/tx gain in zapata.conf. The wiki has a link to this article but it no longer exists on the server. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2004-November/071301.html

2.6.9 and timeouts
I have a scenario where a "broken pipe" condition can happen on a fairly regular basis and in all honesty it is to be expected. We are working with satellite links to moving ship platforms (no it isn't military based) and depending on location, sea conditions, and a few dozen other factors, the data link can become somewhat unstable at times. That and the high-latency for IP

IceShare: IceT page hashing
This is intended for those interested in IceShare development.. The earlier drafts of the IceT protocol (sorry, not back on the wiki yet) used SHA1 hashes for pages. This, AFAIR, is the same that bittorrent uses for .torrent files, except ours are transfered "live" between the peer and the tracker as the data is being transfered. The first method, where the Tracker sent a seperate

interesting expert problem - shaping over VPN
Here''s a challenging problem for you experts to tackle: I''m trying to shape traffic going into an IPSEC interface which then goes over a DSL PPPoE interface. I figure I need to shape the DSL interface to keep it''s hardware queue mostly empty, and to

1.9
Hey so, People are asking about Mongrel Ruby 1.9 compatibility. Isn''t the point of 1.9 for library developers to have time to get ready for 2.0? It''s not like 1.9 is a production release. Evan -- Evan Weaver Cloudburst, LLC

Asterisk-Users List Etiquette
Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears! Or, in this case, your eyes. It has become a problem I've noticed over and over again, that we tend to think the mailing list is some sort of forum, used to post whatever your hearts desire. This list, not unlike any other mailing list, has a purpose. A focus if you will. Hopefully this 'document' will point out some key things we
