PDA as source client
Has anybody used anything other than a PC as a source for icecast2? Are PDAs powerfull enough? I know vorbis encoding takes a signifigant amount of CPU power, but I've been able to do it on 4 year old PCs. Does a 206MHz Intel StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor have as much power as a 200 Mhz Pentium? I'm thinking Compaq iPaq, running Familiar Linux and IceS, would make a nice portable $220 source. Any thoughts? -- Lu...

dsa keys & ssh-agent
Ok... I just kludged dsa key support into the ssh-agent that comes with openssh-2.1.1p4. Its ugly and conforms to no standard (I could find no signifigant mention of it in the IETF drafts) but it does seem to work. If anybodys interested in it, I'll clean up the code and post. For now I'm going to sleep. Oh yeah.. thanks Damien Miller for pointing out that SSL add_all_algorithms bit, without telling me to RTFM which was your right. Adam...

Samba - Windows 2000 Client Speed
...Win 95 machines all connected properly, and transfer speeds and reaction time is quite good. One of the Win NT machines was just upgraded to run Windows 2000. The connectivity still works, but I noticed a severe degredation in transfer speeds to and from the Windows 2000 client. There is also a signifigant delay, sometimes over 10 seconds, when clicking on a share or a folder inside of a share on the Win 2000 client. The Win 98 and NT 4.0 clients are still quite fast. Additional Specs are: Kernel 2.4.2 Distribution - Slackware v 7.1 Small Class C subnetwork with a total of six clients. Are the...

Multinomial logistic regression
Is it possible to use function "glm" in case when my outcome variable has 5 different classes? I have seen examples only when using binomial outcome variable. What about using function "multinom"? How do I to get the signifigance and the confidence levels of the coefficients and the value of goodness of the model with this function? Thank You for Your help! -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Multinomial-logistic-regression-tp4667923.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabbl...

aov function syntax
Hello, I have a simple question about using the aov function syntax (ie. * + or :) for the interaction of 2 factors. I have read the help files, and researched other sites, and have included my source files. My goal is to measure the signifigance of the interaction between population and condition (aka. population:condition). I can't seem to figure it out. 1. In the first example the significance of population:condition works with the "allData" but not with the "studentData." Can you please explain why it fails...

PATCH: sftp-server logging.
This is another take on logging for sftp-server. Given the number of private email requests I've received for this patch, I assume there is signifigant enough interest to request it be reviewed for inclusion into the release. The patch is against 3.1p1, and is completely disabled by default. To enable logging, one must use compile time directives (-DSFTP_LOGGING). This was done due to prior comments by openssh developers who felt logging shou...

Looking for docs on adjusting txgain/rxgain
I am looking for docs on how to diagnose and adjust the rx/tx gain in zapata.conf. The wiki has a link to this article but it no longer exists on the server. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2004-November/071301.html

2.6.9 and timeouts
...e were trying to use a timeout setting of 600 (10 minutes) with 2.6.9. This does help but still presents some failures. I was starting to write a wrapper script that checked for these timeouts and perform a wait+retry and noticed something odd. The seconds being reported in the error message was signifigantly higher than 600. 3 Consecutive Examples: $ rsync -av --progress --timeout=600 --partial tfile.tgz host1:/xfr building file list ... 1 file to consider tfile.tgz io timeout after 1528 seconds -- exiting rsync error: timeout in data send/receive (code 30) at io.c(165) [sender=2.6.9] $ rsync...

IceShare: IceT page hashing
...fferent for each peer), so as a whole it's likely at least one of the peers receiving mangled content would report it as bad and, from there, the tracker could report the questionable pages as "bad" to peers and continue from there. Then it was reported that SHA1 had been cracked, signifigantly weakening it, as MD5 had been some time ago. This is where I stopped work on the hashing, as I didn't have another function to use and didn't want to continue using a method which has already been compromised. Now - SHA2 is interesting. We can use much larger hash sizes, 1024bit...

interesting expert problem - shaping over VPN

1.9
Hey so, People are asking about Mongrel Ruby 1.9 compatibility. Isn''t the point of 1.9 for library developers to have time to get ready for 2.0? It''s not like 1.9 is a production release. Evan -- Evan Weaver Cloudburst, LLC

Asterisk-Users List Etiquette
Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears! Or, in this case, your eyes. It has become a problem I've noticed over and over again, that we tend to think the mailing list is some sort of forum, used to post whatever your hearts desire. This list, not unlike any other mailing list, has a purpose. A focus if you will. Hopefully this 'document' will point out some key things we
