DomU Guests not shutting down nicely when Dom0 Hypervisor shuts down
I am using Xen 4.6.0-8.el7 on CentOS 7 with 3 Linux DomUs. I did have Xen 4.? on CentOS 6.5 on my previous system. I installed using yum install centos-release-xen. On shutting down the Hypervisor it used to wait for the DomUs to shut down gracefully (one can take a minute or more), then on starting up again it would restart the DomUs, all nice and controlled. For some reason the DomUs (CentOS or Ubuntu servers) are not shutting down nicely when the Hypervisor is shutdow...

Shutting down a GlusterFS server.
Hi, I have a 2-node replica volume running with GlusterFS 3.3.2 on Centos 6.4. I want to shut down one of the gluster servers for maintenance. Any best practice that is to be followed while turning off a server in terms of services etc. Or can I just shut down the server. ? NUT not shutting down one of three UPSs (sometimes none of them shut down)
I have three APC SmartUPS 5000s. Two of them are AP9617 and one is AP9619. I have a RS-232 connections from my monitor host to all three. All three report status and give information. One of the two AP9617 - ups3-1 - does not shut down when FSD is sent. It did when I first set this system up a year or two ago but it's stopped doing so since then. Resetting the management interface does not

Thanks Ken. I'll plan to sit down and look up the protocol information over the next week or so and follow up. ________________________________ From: Ken Olum <kdo at cosmos.phy.tufts.edu> Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2020 1:35:10 PM To: David Zomaya Cc: kdo at cosmos.phy.tufts.edu; layne.fowler at gmail.com; nut-upsuser at alioth-lists.debian.net Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [Nut-upsuser]

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno, > Question: have you also tested oldmge-shut? > Otherwise, that might be interesting to do so and send back the > results of these tests... Yes, I've tried this as well with worse results unfortunately. This driver seems to be even more unstable. When it gets able to set communication with the UPS (which is not always the case), it usually lost it again after a while.

mge-shut don't reboot ups by default
Hi I have Pulsar 1000 (MGE) and mge-shut 2.0.5-3. By default mge-shut don;t reboot ups after upsmoc -c fsd, only permanent powerdown. After I add ondelay=30 in config, all nice, ups restarted after 10 sec. But according man mge-shut ondelay measured in tens of seconds and by default equal 3. -- Olleg Samoylov

reload without shutting imap connections down
...ecot sometimes. According to the logs there are dovecot reloads at this times. Seems that a reload also causes dovecot to shut all imapconnections down: Jul 16 13:31:40 myhostname dovecot: master: Warning: SIGHUP received - reloading configuration Jul 16 13:31:40 myhostname dovecot: imap: Server shutting down. bytes=251/675 I tried to reload by initscript or sending -HUP manually to pid, dovecot is shutting down imapconnections and i think this is the reason for users to report this problems with some clients. This seems to be new with versions 2.x, i have some old 1.2.x dovecots running and c...

Listing shut off domains
Hi, I am in the process of migrating a system that was using KVM to VMWare Workstation. The original code needs to list all the domains available on the local machine, no matter what their state is. The problem is that the shut off domains are not shown by the virsh commands on the VMWare Workstation system. On the KVM system, with one shut off domain, I get this output: maxpower at sw ~$ virsh

NUT Client Shuts Down After Brief Power Loss
...(by doing ?sudo upsmon -c fsd? via telnet on the NAS). The problem is when there is an actual brief power outage of a few seconds, maybe 5 - 10 seconds max. The NAS stays powered up, however the Mac mini (NUT client) shuts down. When booted back up it immediately shuts down again. It will keep shutting down as soon as it boots up in MacOS and will keep doing that until I reboot the NAS. I?m not sure if the problem is the client or server, however I?ve been talking to Synology Tech Support and this was their last message: "Can you please check the NUT settings on your Clients and make sure...

upsmon/upssched shutdown problem
Hi, we're trying to do something that's perhaps unorthodox, but seemingly should work; but not for me. We've got a Powerware 9315, that we are serially attaching one machine to. We have several classes of systems that we want to have shut down at different times. I've been doing my config testing by attaching the master machine to a Powerware 9120, and yanking the power

Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
Hi, David. Thanks for the offer of help. I have BCPERS450 serial number 2701DVHBC809300177. Unfortunately I'm about to go on a trip and will be away until the end of the month, so I don't have much time to discuss these things at the moment, but maybe Layne will have something to say. My understanding from when I was working on this a couple years ago is that the main problem in
