Problem shuting down server.
Have Centos 5.3 installed in a HP ML110 server. After cloning disk using Clonezilla, if I issue a shutdown -h now, or any other command to shut down the server (i.e. init 0 or poweroff), instead of shutting down the server reboots. I googled but could't find any answer. ?Does anybody has a clue about why this is happening? -- Enrique Verdes <EVerdes at conatel.com.uy> Depto. de

I am a bit confused
I have read the shutdown.txt in the docs directory. It says that after upsmon calls the shutdown command init takes over. This I understand clearly. However, step 8. 8. init then runs your shutdown script. This checks for the POWERDOWNFLAG, finds it, and tells the UPS driver(s) to power off the load. Since init is shuting down the system, why is the POWERDOWNFLAG needed? Why do I

USB PCI Passthrough System Instability
I recently managed to get PCI Passthrough to work for a Windows HVM operating under Xen 3.2 on Fedora 8. I needed to get USB ports passed through to the Windows VM with full hot plug functionality and I was able to get that working using a Dell 755 with a USB PCI expansion card. However, when trying to bring the box up to an operational status status I have encountered some rather severe

Dear R users, When I try to resize a graphics device in R, I often get this warning message (mostly when I already have several other graphics devices open) : "Not enough memory to modify the size. Alpha blending is desactivated" (translation from the french message: "Mémoire insuffisante pour modifier la taille. L'"alpha blending" est désactivé"). Following

[PATCH] irq: Exclude percpu IRQs from being fixed up
irq: Exclude percpu IRQs from being fixed up Xen spin unlock uses spurious ipi "lock_kicker_irq" to wake up blocked vCPUs waiting on that lock. This irq should always be disabled. However, when Dom0 is shuting down, function fixup_irqs is called which unmasks all irqs. Function unmask_irq effectively re-enables lock_kicker_irq and its irq handler is invoked which reports bug and crashes

sshd demons
Hi there, I'm having a problem with sshd demons not shuting down after connection is closed. The strange thing is that this is happening on both my Redhat 6.2 server and Redhat 7.0, both running OpenSSH_2.3.0p1. I'm positive that KeepAlive is set to yes ! Is this a common problem ? I'm suspecting that is has something to do with the client as well. Think we're all using

VGA passthrough with Xen 4.3 and xl toolstack - performance degradation resolved?
Hello, Hope you can help. A while ago users noted performance degradation or dom0 stability issues when shuting down a HVM guest that uses VGA passthrough (e.g. Windows 7), and booting up the guest again. A workaround was to eject the graphics card within Windows, before shutting down the guest. This process is described here: http://blog.ktz.me/?p=219. I tried to follow those instructions, but
