multiple plots in a function()
...ope, eg:
par (mfrow=c(5,5))
for ( i in 1:10) {
myfunction(data, i)
}
Off course, the par() in myfunction overwrites the par() before the slope. So, how to write myfunction, that it plots two plots and can be used in the slope like in the example?
Thanks a lot, Dirk

As far as I can see, m is symmetric. Why do these two not coincide?
(The first is correct.)

Script to strip chroot passwd file
Hello BSDers,
I'm running Apache in a chroot jail with suPHP. It needs an /etc/
passwd in the chroot so that suPHP can setuid to the owner of the PHP
script, but there's nothing that requires the passwords to be valid.
Does anyone have a script strips passwords out of master.passwd, sets
all shells to nologin, etc and writes it to the chroot etc dir? I've
looked around but

Help with Clustering Techniques in R
Greetings RListers,
I have a data set containing two types of outcomes; success and failure.
Associated with each outcome are 12 different measurements. I'm trying
to find out, for example, if some of the 12 measures are associated more
with success or failure or, if there's any relationship at all between
the measures and the outcomes (success or failure).
I don't have (as yet)

i915 DRM enabled in X.org log but not in glxinfo
Hi,
Just to say that this report may well seem a little sparse, but I
really don't know what exactly to look for so if anybody needs extra
information just shout and I will get it for you ASAP.
When I check the X.org log file, it says direct rendering: enabled on
my graphics device (it attaches its i810 driver to the kernel's i915
DRM device). This would appear to me to suggest that

Port scan from Apache?
Hi everyone,
today I got an e-mail from a company claiming that my server is doing
port scans on their firewall machine. I found that hard to believe so I
started checking the box.
The company rep told me that the scan was originating at port 80 with
destination port 8254 on their machine. I couldn't find any hints as to
why that computer was subject to the alleged port scans. Searching

SSH scans vs connection ratelimiting
Gang,
For months now, we're all seeing repeated bruteforce attempts on SSH.
I've configured my pf install to ratelimit TCP connections to port 22
and to automatically add IP-addresses that connect too fast to a table
that's filtered:
table <lamers> { }
block quick from <lamers> to any
pass in quick on $ext_if inet proto tcp from any to ($ext_if) port 22
