GetText Question: How not to gather ActiveRecord''s columns?
Hi,
Rake''s ''updatepo'' task[1] suggested by Masao(Ruby-GetText maintainer)
gather whole model''s columns. I don''t need to translate those column names.
So I''d like to give translators the po files without such needless messages.
However I wouldn''t like to exclude ''app/models'', because of some useful

setting quantum values
Hi,
when we add a class we get an error "HTB Quantum too small,or too big"
i read in docum.org that we need to set the quantun value which should be >1500 and <60000.
but i need to add classes with diff type of rates.
eg : Min : 32 kbit and Max : 512 kbit.
now in this case how do i set my quantum value which satifies all types of rates.
Pls let me know,This is very urgent for

Office 97 dont open .doc files
...everything is O.K. And after enabling "fake oplocks" for this share
everything is also working fine on XXXXX.doc-Documents.
I think I can live with this fake oplocks (hopefully there won't be
two users working on the same file), but after I am responsible for
the system this is not a satifying solution.
Does anyone know the problem or has an other solution.
Ciao, Joern!

to be the solution offered to others in the past, but if I understand the
specs correctly, the current samba should support digital signing. Since
the second policy (if client agrees) causes the problem as well, it would
appear that the samba3 box tries to but cannot satify the W2K3 server. FYI,
I updated to 3.0.21a with no change in behavior.
For test purposes this is how I'm mounting the shares;

filtering data frame based on two columns
Hi,
I have a data frame df with column names a,b and c.
Now I want to get a subset of df that satified the condition a == 1 and b
== 2, how do I specify this.
For one condition like a == 1 I can use subdf = df[,df$a==1] to get the
right answer, but
subdf = df[,df$a==1 && df$b ==2] does not return the right answer.
Some quick tips please.

API for optimization with Simulated annealing
Dear list,
I was trying to use the R API for optimization method "Simulated annealing"
void samin(int n, double *x, double *Fmin, optimfn fn, int maxit,
int tmax, double temp, int trace, void *ex);
but I encountered the following problem:
The implementation of the function samin (as seen in src/main/optim.c)
passes its void * argument "ex" into the function

[AAF] acts_as_ferret 0.4.0 released
Hi folks!
Just wanted to let you know that I released aaf 0.4.0 on last weekend.
Besides the DRb server it also includes a new lazy loading feature that
lets you do ferret searches without actually loading any records from the
DB. Useful e.g. for live searches:
model:
class MyModel
acts_as_ferret :fields => { :title => { :store => :yes }, :content => {} }

[ThinLTO] assert(GS != DefinedGlobals.end()) failed in FunctionImport.cpp
Hello Teresa,
Thank you for your reply. I’m trying to create a small repro but find it hard to nail down because originally it is a big build. This happens with gold linker.
Thanks,
Taewook

AW: Why the commotion about file extensions?
Well, I only recently subscribed to this mailing list and do not know all
the history of this extension debate (I passed up on reading the hundreds of
messages that seem to have been written about this topic).
I just wanted to make one quick point: from my experience, the average user
does not know about file formats, only about content (my experience stems
from working for ashampoo
