Send in your favorite CentOS slogan today
Hi everyone,
The CentOS project is looking for more slogans that may end up on
promotional material (eg media, flyers, posters or stickers). We already
collected a few funny, ironic, sarcastic or even distasteful ones.
Feel free to visit our Slogans wiki page for a good laugh or rude
offenses and add your own slogan by sending them to this thread.

I began my original message saying that I was providing
"constructive criticism". That means I want to HELP if I
can. Your sarcastic attitude is unprofessional.

Why should I answer a Newbie question, there thick!
It would be nice just for once to actually use a mailing list with people
who are a little more sympathetic to the fact that your not a rocket
scentist or molecular biologist and that you might actually need some
help,
without being made to feel like your completely useless and should be
cleaning toilets for a living.

A file with extension .sdb in a codebook section of a large database from a survey?
The TIMSS2007 database http://timss.bc.edu/TIMSS2007/idb_ug.html seems
to provide "both kinds" of universal data formats - either SPSS saved
data sets or SAS saved data sets. (Yes, I am being sarcastic.)
These, of course, are accompanied by massive codebooks explaining the
nature of each of the fields in the data sets. The T07_Codebooks.zip
file available at that site contains .pdf

maybe a bug in the system.time() function? (PR#10696)

Hi,
I am making some intensive simulations for the testing of a Population Monte
Carlo algorithm. This involves also a study of the CPU times in two different
case.
What I am trying to measure is the "real" CPU time, the one which is independent
on the %CPU.
I'm using the

NSS vs OpenSSL
Since Fedora is pushing NSS SSL instead of OpenSSL, has someone tested
tinc-vpn against NSS? As i recall, a single machine can not have
OpenSSL and mod_nss installed at the same time anymore. So if you
have apache running, you _may_ have problems running tinc? The nss
api is supposed to mostly similar to openssl api, but there are some
things openssl supports and somethings nss supports.

Reason for _spec.rb convention
Hi
Easy one - I just wondered why all spec files for rspec_on_rails end
"_spec.rb" instead of just ".rb"? They are all inside the spec
folder so surely the fact they are specs is implicit?

Is log_in_vain really good or really bad?
Heya..
Yesterday someone "attacked" by box by connection to several ports.. In
other words, a simple portscan.. yet, since my box has "log_in_vain"
enabled, so it tries to log everything to /var/log/messages, since the
logfile got full and the size went over 100K, it tried to rotate the log
to save diskspace.

A freshman developer of Speex coming.
hi,
guys.
I come from china, a student of BUPT.
I have developed a softphone using osip&ilbc.
Now, i want to add speex to my softphone.
I heard speex have been a daft of rfc, but I just found draft of the format of rtp in ietf's website.
Is speex dead?
Who can tell me that?
Thanks in advanced.
