Multiple Traveling Salesperson Problem
While R has library TSP to help solve traveling salesperson problems, does
anyone know if it has any libraries to help solve multiple traveling
salesperson problems? For instance, suppose one is planning school bus
routes and one has multiple buses. Thank you for your time.

[OT] Centrex Question
I haven't dealt with Centrex for a long time, and one of my customers is
being courted heavily by a Sprint salesperson.
Am I not correct in assuming that each "line" of Centrex corresponds to
an "extension" in the PBX world?
This site has 2 POTS lines and 5 extensions, and they told me that for
the same thing they're paying right now (~$40/POTS line) they will be
getting two Centrex &qu...

Building from scratch, would like the benefit of everyone's experience
...There is
already a voice T-1 in place and currently there are about 20 extensions
in use. I would want to move up to about 25 extensions immediately and
about 30-35 within the year.
I am going to want IVR and voicemail, plus the ability to ring a group
of phones at once if the caller wants a salesperson.
Here is what I am thinking of so far:
Server: Dell PowerEdge 1850 with redundant power supplies and hardware
RAID 1 across 2 drives, running Centos 4.x - nice server with redundancy
and only 1U
T-1 Interface: Digium TE110P
I would like any comments about those choices and also some comments

OT: Gigabit Rated Eth Cables - Cat 6 v. Gigatrue
Hi,
In populating our racks with several gigbit switches
over the next few days, i'm wondering this:
Is it over-engineering to seek out 550mhz rated cables
over the typical Cat 6 250mhz rated cables?
I've been advised (if you can a salesperson's words
advice, heh.) that 250mhz is enough to handle traffic
up to 10GB's.
Should I just be happy with Cat6 for my GB switches or
is is worth getting more into the details and seeking
550mhz-rated cable?
Just curious what your experience is in migrating away
from the typical 10/100 cable...

Sharing controller code between views - best practices?
Hi,
I have controller code that needs to be shared between
multiple different user type views and want to know
what is considered ''best practice'' or what other
people are doing out there.
Example: I have admin users, salesperson users, and
possibly another type of user. They all need code to
add/edit/delete a property - and other abilities. The
code would be identical(in most cases) but needs to
forward to different views. The wrong way to do this
would seem to be duplicating this code across multiple
controllers.

Caller ID for auto outgoing calls
Hi. I'm using /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing files to place automatic
calls, but I'm having trouble setting the Caller ID for the second half
of the call.
In other words, when we call the first number, we want the Caller ID
set to our number, but then when we connect them to the second number,
we want _their_ number to be the Caller ID.
I've tried the following (and various

VPN through BSD for Win2k, totally baffled
Scenario:
FreeBSD box running IPFW acting as a gateway to private network. The private
network is made up of entirely routeable IP addresses. External users
running Win2k and XP on DSL connections with dynamic IPs.
Goal:
To have the FreeBSD gateway securely authenticate and encrypt the traffic
between the outside users and the internal network.
I've spent the last 3 days running up and

Subject: Re: Where can i get the g.723 codec?
...may be
equipped with dsp's to handle
488 simultanoeus sessions in any mix of supported codecs(incl. G.723.1
and G729..).
I whish that I had the time to make the 'glue logic' thats needed to
connect the
* codes api with Mapletree busmastering codecs channels.
P.S. I am NOT a Mapletree salesperson.
-The makers of hardphones prolly get their G72x licensing by using a DSP
-that already has a license. The DSP can't be that expensive. I wish
-someone would make a PCI card with something like 8 of these chips on it
-and sell it cheap. Should be pretty easy to build a codec for Asterisk

Direct DAHDI documentation
Hello,
I wanted to switch from using Dialogic/Eicon cards to using Digium's T-1 cards. When I purchased a sample card the salesperson assured me there was documentation specific to the DAHDI interface. Now that I'm digging in, I'm finding it's documented a lot like Linux -- one must read the fairly uncommented source code.
I don't have a problem with this generally, but here I just don't understand the divisi...

Loopy stuff
June 14 2000
Dear Samba Folks:
The same install on a Solaris 7 machine is flawless, this is on Solaris
8. Lots of dmesg stuff piling up. .However the "Toys at Work" (PC's)
are running along and mounting their samba files just peachy and as
usual don't know any different or better. Any ideas? This was
installed using the 2.0.7 install from your site. +/- 3 weeks ago. (

No matter what your motivations, Fairmount Academy can make sure that you have the best preparation as you enter the Real Estate profession.
A real estate agent - or salesperson - is licensed to negotiate and transact the sale or rental of real state on behalf of a property owner. He or she is an independent contractor, working under the supervision of a broker, or brokerage firm. Income for sales agents comes from commission on the sales or rentals of properties.

video source
...er minute, the
video was noticeably jerkier, and stair-stepped on diagonal lines, than the
video that was stored on the mini-DV tape.
Thinking that the problem might be my 750 MHz AMD Duron with 128 MB of RAM
computer, I took the camcorder to the Circuit City where I had bought it, and
asked a salesperson to let me try the video capture over a firewire cable on
one of their computers. We tried it on a 2.8 GHz Pentium IV with 512 MB of
RAM, and the result with MS MovieMaker was the same. The resulting .dv files
were the same as I had gotten on my computer. There wasn't a large loss in

[offtopic] Asterisk <-IP-> Siemens HiPath 4000
Hello!
Is it possible to connect Siemens HiPath 4000 to Asterisk? What
equipment required on Siemens side? I mean IP not E1.
Sorry for asking here. Siemens-related websites use "salesperson
language". There is no technical information.

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice <--one thing I forgot
...SIP as the origination channel you pass
ZAP/g0/XXXXXXXXXXX (the DID of the agent) to your .call file. In fact, this
is exactly how the www.landmarkhomes.ca <http://www.landmarkhomes.ca>
script works (it calls the guy who entered his phone number in the website,
when he picks up, it calls the salesperson's cell number and the two are
bridged together)
The drawback is, of course, that it uses 2 ZAP channels to bridge the call
together, but this isn't a problem I guess for you since you seem to have
ZAP channels coming out of your yinyang.
I have an implementation in Active Server Pages...

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice
Hello List,
I work for an IP communication provider in upstate NY as the engineer
assisting our technical support team.
We provide a number of different Telco systems to residential
subscribers; and in an effort to more effectively trouble shoot
termination problems I came up with the idea of creating a click to call
system that will allow our agents to effortlessly place test calls.

A unique 'click to call' project - Could usesome advice
Colin,
Thanks for your assistance.
Reading over your advice I seem to still be a bit confused.
My agents are not on the Asterisk server; it appears in your advice that
my the call will travel this path:
WWW interface --> agent enters their DID, platform to use, and
termination DID --> AST calls agent --> Agent calls termination DID
If my agents are not on the Asterisk server

anyone from Joplin, MO
I'm trying to convince my employer to deploy an Asterisk based system, but
one member of the leadership team is against it. The rest of the team is
for it, but he's convinced them that we should find other organisations in
the Joplin, MO area who are using Asterisk first because, "we don't want to
be the first in our area." I can't fathom how that's relevant, since
