Re: CentOS and SL, together? -- attributing statements to me (that I didn't make)
From: Dag Wieers > Bryan, stop generalising and dramatising. What dramatising? At some point, several people decide that anything they dislike was said by me. Several other people said far more negative comments about CIPE than myself. Those comments have now been attributed to me. I purposely avoided making it about whether or not CIPE should or shouldn't not be included, just why it wasn't based on what I found. I recognize 99% of the...

Appreciate the help...
I received some interesting answers to my cron question. Most people said it was not possible. One person reviewed cron's source code and said the source would need to be modified. One person said I should mount the filesystem with noexec. I'll review and test the answers as best I can. To answer several people's curiosities of why I keep pushing - wh...

Xen on OpenSSI?
Any thoughts on running Xen on OpenSSI? We have an app we''d like to cluster but is expressly and completely incompatible with the OSes that OpenSSI are supported on, but if we can run several Xen domains on a cluster we can run those OSes and, naturally, that app. Thoughts? OT: redhat training and RHES6
Greetings. I am planning on getting my RHCE in the near future. I thinking I should wait until 6 comes out before proceeding. That being said, I don't want to wait past the end of this year. That being said, do you all have any information about how long it takes for their training platform to catch up to their release? Which is to say, if RHES 6 is released on day 1, at what point will they start training on RHES6? I'm as...

...am considering writing converters between my "zen markup language' and "markdown", but i don't know which version of markdown to target. i'd think it'd be the "pandoc" version, and i understand that to be closest to "multimarkdown", but gruber has said he "disagrees" with "almost every part" of multimarkdown's syntax additions... specifically, on 2008/03/14, gruber said: > I despise what you've done with Text::Markdown, > which is to more or less make it an alias for > MultiMarkdown, almost every p...

No one at Red Hat is forcing you to do so. tattooing of tdbsam backend with logon script value
All users whose "logon script" values have not been explicitly defined automagically inherit the value that "logon script" is set to in smb.conf. And one can change the "logon script" for all such users simply by changing said value in smb.conf. However, once a logon script value value has been explicitly defined for a user this inheritance ability (as the explicit definition should not be overwritten) seems forever lost. I have not found a method to undo this tattooed state to allow for the automagic inheritance of the...

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM with cmake on FreeBSD
...ng makefiles or the configure scripts. They are NOT GENERATED BY CMAKE. Start by downloading CMAKE from http://cmake.org/ and continue the process outlined in the build instructions that we keep trying to tell you to use and you keep ignoring completely. Perhaps you didn't understand what I said earlier when I said we are TRANSITIONING AWAY from AUTOTOOLS/CONFIGURE. They are still present in the build because the transition away from them isn't complete yet. CMake doesn't require those files at all since it does its thing totally differently.

How long to 1.0?
Hi! I'm wondering how close Dovecot can be said to be to 1.0 "Final". How stable can the alpha branch be said to be? I was browsing around the Dovecot homepage, but I couldn't find any answer to this question. I hope it hasn't been asked (too many times) before. Fredrik Tolf
