Any thoughts on running Xen on OpenSSI? We have an app we''d like to cluster but is expressly and completely incompatible with the OSes that OpenSSI are supported on, but if we can run several Xen domains on a cluster we can run those OSes and, naturally, that app. Thoughts? Applying all the necessary changes to run the open SSI kernel under XEN it should work. Notice that the openMosix kernel is currently being ported to work under Xen. CD Have you ever lied, no matter the color? I have. Have you ever stolen anything, no matter the value? I have. Have you ever lusted? I have. Jesus said whoever looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. We are lying, thieving, adulterers at heart and will face judgement one day. There is good news for us! "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God." > That''s cool, but I was actually thinking the other way around... one > OpenSSI cluster with alotta Xen domains...Do you mean running Xen *on top of* OpenSSI? Unfortunately you can''t do that because Xen runs under the OS kernel. Since it''s not just an application you can''t use OpenSSI / openMosix to distribute it across multiple machines. That said, you should be able to achieve the same sort of results by running multiple OpenSSI / openMosix clusters on top of standard Xen. In other words, it''s not just a matter of needing the company''s blessing for tech support (which we do), it just won''t work period. Oh well, perhaps UserMode Linux will do the job. Thanks! Maybe the openMosix port will be useful to you when it''s finished. Good luck implementing your system!
