Use R function in C code
I want to use R function Matrix inverse in my c code, please tell me how I can.
If there is a sample which can tell me how it works. It will be fantastic.

calling R from C
Hi All,
We'd like to use functions provided in R in our application.
Our application is written in C/C++ and currently runs on
win32, Linux and Mac. We'd be happy to attach the whole
R ( i.e. not just transfer some function by hand).
It is important that we deal with big amount of data, so
"command line"-like invocations won't be very interesting.

Just Beginning
Hi,
Im new to "R", I am currently doing a proect for college, in which questions
are answered and the results are sent to a mySql database. Essentially I
want R to read from this database and generate graphs e.t.c. Dies anyone
know of a good website where I can learn the different commands needed to do
this? I have looked around on the net but cannot seem to find anything. Hope
to hear

Macros versus functions
R is a function-oriented language and functions have the advantage that
they control unintended side effects of computations on the workspace.
Still, there are times when I am using R when I want to make a large
number of changes to the worksheet repeatedly and where the easiest way
seems to be to keep pasting in the same chunk of code, or to put it on
a file and use

R people,
I need to know if is possible to make data mining with R. If so, is
there any manual or somewhere/one to consult about that.
Thank you very much

Renaming Within A Function
I am trying to rename column names in a dataframe within a function. I am
seeing an error (listed below) that I don't understand.
Would be grateful of an explanation of what I am doing wrong and how I
should rewrite the function to allow me to be able to rename my variables.
Thanks.

Statistical analysis of a large database
Deall all,
We need to perform a statistical analysis of a large database (40,000 entries with approximately 500 fields in each entry) currently handled in Oracle. The data contains categorical variables only.
At the current stage we suggest classification and clustering analysis.
We are planning to perform the analysis in R and would be very grateful for any

Importing big plain files from ERP-System/Data Mining with R
Hi,
how can I import really big plain text data files (several GB) from an
ERP-System (SAP-Tables) to R?
The Header of these files are always similar, for example:
Tabelle: T009
Angezeigte Felder: 7 von 7 Feststehende F??hrungsspalten: 2 Listbreite

macro facility in R
R 2.2 on windows XP
I have a dataset with multiple columns. Some of the columns represent
independent variables, some represent dependent variables. I would like
to run the same analyses on a fixed set of independent variables,
changing only the dependent variable, e.g.
y1-y2=x1+x2+x3
y3-y4=x1+x2+x3
y5-y6=x1+x2+x3, etc.
I know I can write a function to perform the analyses, however in order

truly object oriented programming in R
Good morning! I recently implemented a KD tree in JAVA for faster
kernel density estimation (part of the code follows). It went well. To
hook it with R, however, has proved more difficult. My question is: is
it possible to implement the algorithm in R? My impression seems to
indicate no as the code requires a complete class-object framework that
R does not support. But is there an R package or

Novice User Manual
Dear R users,
I'm a new user of R : in fact , i hadn't used R yet. To say the
truth , I'm used to with graphical interface of windows environment. so R
console reminds me Linux , of which i am afraid of much more. Whatever , i
like to learn about the 7 topics below of "R" or "S+4.5" [is there any
other similar program like these ?]. Thats why i need

wilcox_test function in coin package
Dear All,
I have two simple data samples (no groups or factors, etc.) and would just
like to compute the two-sample Wilcoxon Rank Sum test using the wilcox_test
function contained in the coin package, which is reportedly better than the
regular wilcox.test function because it performs some adjustment for ties.
Would anyone know how to craft a script to perform this task? Much
appreciated.

R and Scheme
I've read in many places that R semantics are based on Scheme semantics. As
a long-time Lisp user and implementor, I've tried to make this more precise,
and this is what I've found so far. I've excluded trivial things that
aren't basic semantic issues: support for arbitrary-precision integers;
subscripting; general style; etc. I would appreciate corrections or
additions from
