polycom custom ring tones (slightly OT)
Hi all, Has anyone made up custom ring tones for the Polycom SIP phones? We use different rings for different lines, but the ones it comes with are all very similar. In the interesting of sharing, here's one I made up for paging: <PAGE_BEEP se.pat.ringer.13.name="Page Beep" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.type="chord" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.value="12"

Loud Ringers and paging systems...
...the extensions will sound the same over the loud ringer. Of course, we want them to have different rings over the pa system so that all three people don't have to check their phone every time it rings. So far, the only semi solution I am coming up with (short of buying three different loud ringers and wiring them into the paging system) is to have my dialplan generate a call file that will make a second call to the paging system and play out an audio file based on who we are doing the loud ringer for. This has the disadvantage that it isn't a true loud ringer as it will only play for...

Really, really loud ringers
Anyone have some recommended equipment for alerting people to calls in a noisy environment? I have Polycom IP550 phones set up in some really noisy environments - our mine hoists - and they tend to drown out the ringers. I'm using Clarity WR100s now. They're analog devices, attached to Linksys PAP2T ATAs as part of a call group to get a loud (advertised as 95dB) ring out there, but it still could be louder. Maybe a light-up option would be better. The old phone system here had some huge loudspeakers th...

Looking for SIP loud ringer
Hi, I have a customer with a definitely low-tech need: he has a noisy storeroom where he wants to hear the phones ringing so he can leave the storeroom and pick up the phone in his office. So all I need is a loud SIP ringer. Does this even exist? I know paging amplifiers exist, but that`s not what I need. Mike -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Polycom 501 - Auto answer on one line appearance
I am using SugarCRM together with the asterisk plugin, which allows me to click a number, SugarCRM calls my extension then places the call when I pickup. I would like to have that extension auto-answer. I set it up as line 3 on my phone so normal calls do not get auto-answered. However, I have not been able to get this to work. Has anyone implented this? This is what I put in the config file

Configuring BudgeTone and ringer over TFTP
I noticed that the BudgeTone (I have the 102) with the latest firmware tries to download a file called cfg.txt (presumably the configuration) and a file called ring.bin (presumably a ringer) from the tftp server. The ring-in sound on the budgetone is the same as the ring-out sound and that is going to be confusing for users. I contacted GrandStream and was informed that both of these formats are

Single ringer phone for incoming calls, that anyone can answer
Hi list, Does anyone have any advice on the following: Incoming calls to our office come in on a SIP trunk. Since all our offices/desks are in close proximity, we would like just a single phone to ring when a call comes in instead of ringing every person's phone. Currently we've got this working by having all the phones in a callgroup/pickupgroup and incoming calls ring the

Cisco 79XX Ringers & chan_sccp
Hello: Does anyone know how to configure any of the Cisco 79XX phones to get custom ringers when using chan_sccp with Asterisk? I've currently got Asterisk's 05-24-04 CVS-HEAD and Zozo's 0.2 release of chan_sccp. I've tried using ringlist.dat, but that appears to only be for the SIP phones... Thanks for any input, Andrew

best way for night ringer??
Asterisk 1.2.13 I am trying to figure out the best way for a night bell at work. Note: I have no spare buttons available on the phones. But I do have two lines and two park positions as buttons. Option 1 (easiest and the one I just implemented) When asterisk is in night mode, Connect to IVR, List all options and then if they dial 0 or timeout, ring every phone in the

False Zap answer problem (Again)
I've been monitoring this problem for almost a month now. I realized that it is more extensive than what I described previously. I can very easily replicate this problem on every Zap channel. Following is the senario: 1. Call Zap/5 via say SIP/15 -> Zap/5-1 created and starts to ring 2. Call Zap/5 via say SIP/21 -> Zap/5-2 created and starts to ring 3. Hangup SIP/15 ->

distinctive ring on SNOM 200
Hi, I'm trying to set up my SNOM 200 with extensions, with different ringtones - but it doesn't seem to work. I've defined two extensions for it in Asterisk and in the SNOM 200 configuration. In the SNOM home>settings>SIP>Lines config page, I have set the ringer for the first extension to "ringer1", and "ringer6" for the second. In

Single ringer phone for incoming calls, that every one can answer
Setting up pick/callgroups really tightly is the way to go - one of our techs here does that all the time for clients. TDM400P (TDM22P) and aux power.
...o "terminate" POTS lines and use all SIP Phones? Due to circumstances, I end up with a 1u server that has no aux power connectors available. I "have to" use this server, so am considering abandoning the analog phones and using all SIP. IIRC, the aux power *is* only to power ringers. joe a.

Cisco 76XX - How to ignore a call (silence ring)
I am preparing to setup a system using Cisco 7940 and 7960's I have the 7.1 SIP firmware on them. One issue I have run into is how to silence the ringer if a call comes in and you don't want to take it. Many phones have a DND button. I know the 79XX has the DND in the menu but it is to cumbersome to go into the settings then phone preferences then the DND and select yes. Is there any other

zap calls drop suddenly + tremendous noise when answering a call
We have an asterisk box with the following configuration: - AMD Athlon XP 2400+ - 512 MB RAM - SUSE Linux 10.1 - a Digium card TDM400P with 3 FXO - another Digium card TDM400P with 4 FXS - asterisk 1.2.7.1 - zaptel 1.2.4 I already checked that those cards aren't sharing interrupts (by cat /proc/interrupts): 0: 14119786 XT-PIC timer 1: 10 XT-PIC i8042 2:

USB handset wanted
Hello all asterisk users! Question: Does anybody know about any good USB handset that would understand SIP and Asterisk and will run with Linux? I have found tons of them, but they are mainly only supported in Windows environment. I would like to set up new phone system in our company that would be based on asterisk acting as PBX and SIP. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Any

Controlling Cisco 7960 Ringtone from Asterisk
I'm trying to change the ring tone on my 7960 from the dialplan. I've tried the example on the wiki but it doesn't seem to work. Something like: exten => 3010,1,SetVar(ALERT_INFO=<Bellcore-dr1>) ; selects Ringer exten => 3010,2,Dial(SIP/3010,15) I'm not sure what the Bellcore-dr1 ringer is supposed to be. I've tried replacing ALERT_INFO with another ring tone

Alert_INFO x2 => 400 Bad Request
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Good evening, I have something strange, when I add an ALERT_INFO variable to a ring group, the invite generated contains 2 lines with Alert-Info and my phones return a 400 Bad Request... I've checked in my config files, there is only one line with Set(__ALERT_INFO..... Any idea?? PS: I'm using Asterisk Asterisk 1.4.13-BRIstuffed-0.4.0-test4
