R 2.3.0 + R-gnome + Ubuntu (i686 & amd64)
Hello,
I am trying to run R-gnome on my Debian distro (Ubuntu 6.06), but something
strange is happening. Inspite of having apperently sucessfully installed
Rgnome 2.3.0 I keep getting the error message below, saying that Rgnome is
not found. I have actually checked the folder and Rgnome is not being
properly installed.
I ran into this problem on both my 32 and 64 bits intallation of Debian.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
JP

Rgnome depends on obsolete components libglade/libxml (PR#8247)
Full_Name: Hin-Tak Leung
Version: R 2.2.0
OS: x86 linux
Submission from: (NULL) (131.111.126.242)
Rgnome depends libglade 0.x and libxml 1.x .
They are no longer shipped with Redhat EL4.
(I know they are still in fedora core 4).
Just a wish-list.

Rgnome produces errors?
I'm totally confused by the following:
1. I start R simply by typing R on the shell
and the following works with no problems:

R --gui=GNOME problem
I've installed GNU R statistical comupting language and environment 2.2.1-2 by Synaptic (on Ubunti Linux 6.06 Dapper Drake). I've installed also r-gnome to have a GUI. I can't start my GUI. Why R --gui=GNOME don't start? It cannot find rgnome. R --gui=tk command instead is good. What's the best GUI for R?
How can I start my GUI?
Thanks
Paco

Embedding R
hello all,
is there somewhere a comprehensive documentation for the (C) functions used for embedded R? (e.g. the functions which are used in the directory \tests\Embedding in the R source)
or
Are there somewhere many more examples for this? (especially handover of data between C and embedded R)
thanks,
Alex

Fwd: makeconf issue on R-devel 2006-03-12 r37524
I sent the message below to r-sig-mac yesterday, but having no reply
I decided to explore a bit myself and found that editing:
/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.3/Resources/share/make/
shlib.mk
yzzy: diff shlib.mk shlib.mk~
3c3
< include $(R_HOME)/etc/Makeconf
---
> include $(R_HOME)/etc${R_ARCH}/Makeconf
restored the functionality of R CMD INSTALL.
Is this a known issue?
