High Pitched Noise
...lasts the entire call. In some cases, the noise doesn't start until a minute or 2 into the call, while others last the entire call. In some of the more serious cases, calls are dropped after the noise has occurred as well. Another symptom has been really bad static on a specific channel. After reseating the card to try to fix both this as well as the problem above, the problem usually goes away, but it seems to come back quicker each time. Also, the channel that the static occurs on changes after each reseating (after some time). Could this just be a bad digium card? Or could it be a bad PCI b...

Compatibility Issues with dell poweredge 1950 and TE110P card
...1711 PCI PErr Slot 1 E171F PCIE Fatal Error B0 D4 F0. The Dell hardware owners manual states that it means the system BIOS has reported a PCI parity error on a component that resides in PCI configuration space at bus 0, device 4, function 0 and advises that the PCI expansion card be removed and reseated. Any suggestions on what exactly might be causing this are welcome. Thanks. Joseph -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... OT: hardware, IBM 3650 M2 won't power on
...connected a network cable, wondering if it's in wake-on-lan; I've tried connecting to it via its management port, and *zip*. I'm not going to do, as several folks' posts that I googled (been at that for hours), cut the cable and solder in an on/off switch. I have taken the lid uff, reseated the PSUs, and the cable connecting to the front panel, and nada. Anyone got any ideas? mark

A disk on Thumper giving random CKSUM error counts
...s which have filled the UltraStar with data in a couple of single-partition pools on it had shown that the writes and scrubs yielded 0 errors. However, now that this disk works as part of a larger old pool (9*5-vdev raidz1 sets), it suffers CKSUM error counts found on every scrub. They tried to reseat the disk in the same position (and will soon try the ex-position of another failed disk), but reseating did not help. For some reason, while early high CKSUM counts led to ZFS degrading the pool, this no longer happens (and my questionable script to clear the errors during scrub is not in use anymo...

Issues installing x86_64 5.1 on Ultra 40
...have to reboot. An examination of dmesg output shows that there are many SATA errors occuring at this point. Timeouts and such. After a reboot, the SATA drive no longer shows up -- not even in BIOS. It's as if the formatting has instructed the drive to deactivate itself. :) A hard reset and reseat of the drive in the SATA enclosure brings it back again. First thought was that the slot or SATA port was bad, so we have moved to others with the same result. Solaris 10 x86 installs perfectly on this machine, so I'm starting to think that the sata_nv driver is to blame here. We're in t...

A question on networking (CentOS 6)
...ecause when we plugged in the cable the light on the card did not light up.?? when we connect the pair server to another separate server it did.? Once the server is back up I will try these things that you suggest, and compare them to the pair server we are trying to connect to.? We are hoping that reseating the card will work.? Probably wishful thinking. Interesting admin info: ipmitool
...er of times, but never for more than getting info, or setting the server name on a Dell LCD screen. However, I had a server screaming about intruder alert, intruder alert, er, "Chassis intrusion detected", and I thought there might be a way to shut it up (this after pulling the server and reseating the lid). A quick google found, on the first page, an 8 page document by Dell called "Managing Dell PowerEdge Servers Using IPMItool". It's clear, comprehensible, has links to the ipmitool project, and to the IPMI standard, which has documentation on calls and parameters. It also h...

E1 w/ TE420B EC
I keep getting a red alarm when trying to setup asterisk to use my TE420B EC. I only have a blank context setup in my extensions.conf as I haven't started to config that until I can clear this red alarm. I don't have physical access to the server, so I can't go reseat the modules/card/ethernet cable, though I have hands on location that have done this a couple times already. Please help. I'm quite frustrated at this point. Thank you in advance for any help. /etc/dahdi/system.conf # Span 1: TE4/0/1 "T4XXP (PCI) Card 0 Span 1" (MASTER) span...

CentOS 6.4 installation fails with message "No usable disks have been found"
Hi folks, I inherited a very old computer (I guess about 8 years old) which I'd like to use for some training on CentOS. I downloaded images for CentOS 6.4 i386 (DVD 1 and 2) and burned them onto discs. After inserting DVD 1 into drive and booting, on the "Welcome to CentOS 6.4!" screen I select "Install or upgrade an existing system". I then skip the media test and
