How can i do the same thing in the China map?
The "maps" package has a function called "match.map", which is for map coloring . Its example is followed: # filled map showing Republican vote in 1900 # (figure 6 in the reference) data(state, package = "datasets") data(votes.repub) state.to.map <- match.map("state", state.name) x <- votes.repub[state.to.map, "1900"] gray.colors <- function(n) gray(rev(0:(n - 1))/n) color <- gray.colors(...

Problem with the cluster package
...want to use the cluster package (Cluster Analysis Extended Rousseeuw et al.). I downloaded it from the CRAN and installed it on my linux system (fedora core 4). All seemed to be allright. But when trying to launch examples, I obtained the following message : > library(cluster) > data(votes.repub) > agn1 <- agnes(votes.repub, metric = "manhattan", stand = TRUE) Error in .Fortran("twins", as.integer(n), as.integer(jp), x2, dv, dis = double(if (keep.diss) length(dv) else 1), : Fortran entry point "twins_" not in DLL for package "cluster&...

coloring agnes plots
Hi all, I am creating dendrograms using agnes and was wondering if it is possible to add color to the leaves (and just the leaves). For example, in the documentation, they have an example using the "votes.repub" data set. If I wanted to make the word "Washington" green (and only Washington), is it possible and if so how? I can apply "summary" to the object created by agnes and even see the names of the objects: Order of objects: [1] Alabama Georgia Arkansas...

Arimax with intervention dummy and multiple covariates
Hi I'm trying to measure the effect of a policy intervention (Box and Tiao, 1975). This query has to do with the coding of the model rather than with the particulars of my dataset, so I'm not providing the actual dataset (or a simulated one) in this case, apart from some general description. The time series are of length n=34 (annual observations between 1977 and 2010). The policy
