I do not love thee, kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64
I've been having a lot of issues with video, for example. However, this one... I have a user with a Dell R730. I install kernel and kernel devel, and the rest of the full update, and rebooted. Nope. 100% kernel panic, right around the time it switches root. I even rebuilt the initramfs, nope. And speaking of kernel panics, has *anyone* ever considered that all the data dumped to the console during one re...

I have noticed something else a little weird via the UEFI setting for the NIC's. I seem to have to enable two NICs for PXE booting to even successfully PXE boot. W...

CentOS 7, new video card in server
Hi, folks, I've got a new Dell R730 server. My users have two Tesla K-80's in it. Then, they wanted to add video, for complicated reasons. Anyway, there's the onboard VGA; I just put in a Quadro K600 (they require DP, and this card offers that). Plug in a VGA monirot (the card even comes with two adaptors, one from large...

CentOS 7, Xeon CPUs, not booting
This is happening on anything other than plain vanilla Dell servers. One R730, with dual Tesla cards, one R420, with a fibre card for a RAID device, it never switches root. All these systems have Xeons, not AMD CPUs. We've had this with every one of the 327 kernels. In addition, it seems to happen also with the 229.20.1; the 229.14.1 has no such problem. >From the r...

Kernel crash
Hi everyone, I updated the kernel from 3.10.0-514.16.1.el7.x86_64 to 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 . While I was following these steps https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Wireless/Broadcom (I knew that I needed to compile again everything) in order to activate WIFI, the laptop crashed doing # depmod -a # modprobe wl Noting that I replaced (naively) # depmod $(uname -r) from the guide (stupid

FSD sequence: Waiting for bigger and slower clients before cutting power
Hi, and thanks for this great piece of free software! I've been meaning to sort this out for some time, but we don't get power outages that often, fortunately... So, correct me if I'm wrong, but from the documentation at https:// networkupstools.org/docs/user-manual.chunked/ Configuration_notes.html#UPS_shutdown, and also reading upsmon.c, when a UPS goes OB LB (assuming we have a
