Sound card recommendation?
Can anyone recommend a good high-end sound card to use on a streaming server? Basically all I need are two channels, a good 96 kHz sampling chip, and it needs to run on Linux. -- Jeff Simmons jsimmons@goblin.punk.net Simmons Consulting - Network Engineering, Administration, Security "You guys, I don't hear any noise. Problem with smbmount and windows xp
For long time I used to smbmount my windows-xp share from my SuSE-Linux machine with smbmount from samba 2.2.12. Now I changed to debian-linux with samba 3.0.13. The smbmount-cmd: ' smbmount //winxp/share /unix-dir -o username=user, password=xxx,ro' returns no error. with 'mount' I see the mounted win-share. But when I try a 'ls /unixdir' I get a 'Permission

(Un)Usefulness of Vorbisgain?
...lly make all tracks QUIETER? I see an average of -7db on most albums. And after that, not only are they substantially quieter than my MP3s (which is a pain), but it also fails to really "even out" the volume. I understand that a 1984 metal album is naturally going to be quieter than 1995 punk rock, but I was expecting at least a little change through Vorbisgain. FatWreck.com - New Rails Site
After months of design and development, we''ve launched our second Rails site, http://www.fatwreck.com (assuming your DNS is updated - the pink site is the old one). The site is for legendary punk rock record label, Fat Wreck Chords and it includes a store. The old site was highly trafficked, with millions of page views per month and we expect this one to be also. So far, the server isn''t even breaking a sweat. Thank you Rails crew! The project wouldn''t have been as fun w...

Clang project renamed
Hi everyone, There are a number of issues with the current name of the Clang project: * It is prone to incorrect type setting, typically as CLang, CLANG, or most commonly c̦҉̫̘̺̹̖̗͒͆͋̈̃̇߯l߲҉̷̡̰̖͈̤̺͒҆̾̚͡͝a̺̹͍̔߭͠ͅn͋́͡g̱߫̉ * The C++ compiler ends in the string "g++", which causes problems for compiler wrapper scripts * The name has been used by a kickstarter project
