lme, two random effects, poisson distribution
Hello, I have a dataset concerning slugs. For each slug, the number of pumps per one time slot was counted. The number of pumps follows Bi(30, p) where p is very small, thus could be approximated by Poisson dist. (# of pumps is very often = 0) The slugs were observed during 12 time slots which are correlated in time as AR(1). The time slots are divided into two categories:...

Help to simulate data to model pump failure use case
Hi, I need help to simulate data to model pump's failure. Below is thought process to simulate the data: - For each Pump readings are captured via sensors each minute for period of 3 months. There are 10 pumps in total. - The failure rate or occurrences of event in 3 months for each Pump is defined. i.e Pump1 would fail 3 times in 3 months, Pump2 would fail 2 times in 3 months, etc. - The failure modes are defined based on the combination of below variables: Failure modes:: -- Bearing damage -->...

Please help(urgent) - How to simulate transactional data for reliability/survival analysis
Hi friends, I haven't done such a simulation before and any help would be greatly appreciated. I need your guidance. I need to simulate end to end data for Reliability/survival analysis of a Pump ,with correlation in place, that is at 'Transactional level' or at the granularity of time-minutes, where each observation is a reading captured via Pump's sensors each minute. Once

pthreads with Darwine Xcode template? (or Wine Windows message pump + sockets + threads sample)
I am trying to run the following pthread example with the Darwine Xcode template: http://www.llnl.gov/computing/tutorials/pthreads/samples/hello.c from http://www.llnl.gov/computing/tutorials/pthreads/ Example Code - Pthread Creation and Termination But the code inside PrintHello does not appear to execute. Can you help me? What I really need is a way to handle multiple client sockets from code

Please help(urgent) - How to simulate transactional data for reliability/survival analysis
A small example data set that illustrates your question will be of great value to those trying to help. This appears to be a transformation that you are wanting to do (timestamp to units of time) so a data representing what you have (dput() is handy for this) and one representing what you want to have with any guidance regarding how to use the other columns in you data set (e.g., the event(0/1)).

Please help(urgent) - How to simulate transactional data for reliability/survival analysis
In principle what you need to do is the following: - break down the time you wish to simulate into intervals. - for each interval, and each failure mode, determine the probability of an event. Determining the probability is the fun part, where you make your domain knowledge explicit and include all the factors into your model: cumulative load, failure history, pressure, temperature,

RFC PATCH: bring OpenBSD stdarg in line with FreeBSD one
Having an absolute path in a #include confuses distcc''s pump mode. Since AFAICS OpenBSD''s stdarg handling uses the builtins, I think we should just treat it like we do NetBSD. I don''t have an OpenBSD box to test on, though. :( Any OpenBSD enthusiasts care to comment? Tim. diff --git a/xen/include/xen/stdarg.h b/xen/include/xen/stdarg.h index 57e2c0e..cb870ac 100644

[LLVMdev] unaligned AVX store gets split into two instructions
Hi, Yes. On Sandybridge 256-bit loads/stores are double pumped. This means that they go in one after the other in two cycles. On Haswell the memory ports are wide enough to allow a 256bit memory operation in one cycle. So, on Sandybridge we split unaligned memory operations into two 128bit parts to allow them to execute in two separate ports. This is also what GCC and ICC do. It is very

Please help(urgent) - How to simulate transactional data for reliability/survival analysis
Thanks Boris and Bret, I was successful in simulating granular/transactional data. Now I need some guidance to transform the same data in format acceptable for survival analysis i.e below format: pump_id | event_episode_no. | event(0/1) | start | stop | time_to_dropout The challenge I'm experience is to generate the 'start' and 'stop' in units of minutes/days from single

T1 (hardware pre-shaped) shaping question
Hello list. I have been trying to figure this out on my own, but I guess I somewhat failed :) A linux router with external eth0 and internal eth1 acts as a gateway for a number of machines utilizing a partial T1 line (512kbps). Since the T1 is limited by hardware and by its nature to 64kbps per channel the most I can pump out of it is up+down < 512kbps. If a number of workstations amount to

Modified rsync over SSL patch
Hi, I've been working with Casey Marshall's SSL patch, and couldn't get it to work reliably - the transfer would abort pretty quickly. So I rewrote the main data pump loop of the patch to use non-blocking IO, and am attaching the new patch. An rsync program using this patch is interoperable with the old patch. Along with the modified message pump I added the following improvements:

Server w/ DHCP address incorrectly registers with WINS
I am sneaking Linux and Samba into my client's IT department (with the cooperation of the IT manager) and we have a few issues getting the system talking to the rest of the network. The network we are inserting the system into uses WINS and does not have DNS for local hostname resolution. The system is required to get its IP address via DHCP. The system is running a vanilla install of

Remote Telecasts?
All -- Does anyone have experience doing remote live broadcasts over Icecast? My thought is to use a Dell laptop running Windows (yeah, I know ;-), digitize locally to 16khz, and pump the output to a remote Linux box. Has anyone done something like this before? Thoughts? Issues? Thanks, Roy --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage:

[Trivia question] What engine is it on DTrace T-shirt ?
Hi, This is not a DTrace technical question (so, please don''t flame me for it) :) This is regarding the DTrace (un)conference TShirt. I am curious to know what engine is it. Could not figure it out. [Bridge] Out of memory problem
Hi, I'm using linux 2.6.21.5 and our kernel is freeze. The problem is, if I create a Software bridge using $brctl command. and add two interfaces say, eth0.0 and eth0.1 using $brctl addbr br-lan $brctl addif br-lan eth0.0 $brctl addif br-lan eth0.1 and when i send traffic from a host connected to one port to host connected at other end, soon all the memory is dried up and and kernel
