dynamic queries
Is there an easy (and secure) way to search your database when you don''t know the number of parameters ahead of time? I can see doing it by concatenating together an sql query, but hopefully rails provides a more elegant way to do this with ActiveRecord without making a ginormous switch statement? For example, lets say my search form has 4 different input boxes. I only want the query to search on fields that are actually provied by the user when they submit. Thanks in advance. -------------- ne...

There were 4 personality measures and I wanted to look at the degree to which they affected the task/ condition interaction. I have explained this briefly here, but I can of course provied more details to anyone who can advise me further with this. [RFC V2] virtio: Add platform specific DMA API translation for virito devices
...n a mode that bypasses the IOMMU and is cache coherent with the guest. This is our legacy "qemu special" mode. If the performance is sufficient we may want to deprecate it over time and have qemu enable the iommu by default but we still need it. A weak implementation of the above will be provied that just puts in the direct ops when qemu_direct_mode is set, and thus provides today's behaviour on any arch that doesn't override it. If the flag is not set, the ops are left to whatever the arch PCI layer already set. This will provide the opportunity for architectures that want to d...

Port 32230 anyone?
Greetings, Yet another strange pattern of traffic is being halted at the shorewall firewall, but I have no idea what this is. IANA shows the ports unassigned, and a net search yields only some of the same questions - what is this port? There are two machines as SOURCE, on the same class C network, adjacent, even, sending one connect attempt to TCP port 32230 every five minutes. I''m

factor.scores
The function factor.scores is used with package ltm and others to estimate IRT type scores for various models. It inherits objects of class grm, gpcm and a few others. What I would like to do is to use the factor.scores function, but feed it my own item parameters (from a bifactor model where the 2PL parameters are adjusted for the bifactor structure). Does anybody have an idea of how this might

[LLVMdev] LLVM for JIT only use
...runtime', I mean 'llvm/runtime' directory, which are C libraries for our purposes (profiling, tracing, a beginning of a garbage-collection library, zlib, etc.). Take a look inside -- you can tell what things are based on their names. The one important thing that the runtime/ directory provies is the crtend.o that is linked to any C/C++ program that LLVM-GCC compiles, but again, that is of no relevance to your project. > For me the runtime stuff of LLVM is the stuff I need to JIT (without C > parsing) - but I am wrong! what exactluy is the "runtime" and why does > i...

Boxplot 5% and 95% quantile instead of 25% and 75%
Hi, I'm new to the whole R-thing as a replacement for Matlab, not disappointed sofar ;) I found out how to make nice looking boxplots, but i also would like the make a boxplot with 5% and 95% instead of the standard 25 and 75% quantiles. My csv input looks something like: LOCATION FILTER NR DATE VALUE MONTH Peelhorst01 1 14-Jan-94 23.07 1 Peelhorst01 1 28-Jan-94 23.68 1 Peelhorst01 1
