Asterisk connecting to a proprietry PBX
Hi guys, I'm interconnecting an Asterisk box with a Lucent Definity PBX by means of FXO/FXS ports on a TDM2400 card. Everything works well, except for one little thing. Every now and then somebody (from an Asterisk extension) will call another extension on the Lucent Definity PBX and they hit their voicemail. They caller leaves their message (or not) and hangup, BUT the Lucent sometimes

Voice Modem + Soundcard Driver
The problem with using Voice Modems is that they fall into two categories: 1) Hardware Modems which only have half-duplex transmission of voice 2) Soft/Win/Lin modems which are proprietry and don't have asterisk drivers Please shoot down this recipe before I waste any time trying to acheive it: Rationalisation: ---------------- In Australia and I assume other places, there is no asterisk-compatible low-end hardware which is legal to use. This could be a way to use existing ce...

Nortel i2004 IP Phones
Hello, is it possible to connect a Nortel i2004, (i2002) IP Phone to an * PBX? I have seen on the net that there should be an SIP firmware aviable for the phone, anyone an idea where to get it? Because orginally they use a own protocol to connect to an Meridian, BCM or CSE1K. Another idea is to write a module for * that can handle this protocol. bye SLiME

Asterisk voice mail to PBX
Hello Barry. I was searching the archives and google for information on connecting to a proprietry PBX and came across an response from you dated Oct 31st, 2002. Quite good information. Since then, has more information become available ? As in, what PBX's have been successfully connected, and more importantly, how ? Regards...Martin -- Where will it all end? Probably somewhere near wh...

Graphics card is reported as: VIA Technologies Inc, KM400/KN400/P4M800 [S3 UniChrome] Rev01. The driver is whatever Ubuntu decided to use when I installed it. I don't know how to find out what it is using. System-> Administration->Hardware Drivers reports that "No proprietry drivers are in use on this system". I found what appears to be a compatible driver on the VIA Technologies website, but installing it is proving to be anything but straightforward. The installation script is currently telling me that it can't find a VIA graphics card. I'll keep pur...

VSS on samba
...uk/store/vss/database/data/names.dat which afaik, shouldn't be stoping anyone from writing to it. Although sometimes no locks appear for it at all and still VSS reports you can't write to it. Viewing the file via the share I can edit it by hand (well write to it anyway - its some dodgy proprietry format) The smb conf for the share is as follows: [vss] comment = Visual Source Safe read only = no browsable = yes path = /home/wdb-uk/store/vss create mask = 0660 directory mask = 0770 oplocks = False level2 oplocks = False with no other locking options specified anywhere else. Commercial Support for CentOS 5 or above
Hi, I saw there's one "Commercial Support" in "Support" menu on CentOS main page, but it's blank. Actually I'm looking for the commercial support for CentOS, is there anyone or organization which is doing this? Thank you very much. -- Best regards, Daniel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Active Directory for users & authentication only?
Hi folks, I'm setting up a new samba box (Redhat ES 4.0, with Rehat samba-3.0.10-1.4E.9) to replace a proprietry OS X version that's been running home directories for our school staff - we've previously used local accounts and groups on the OS X server rather than the AD accounts all our staff have; one of the key goals in moving to a new system was to allow users to logon without having to re-enter t...

Is SKYPE a threat or should we do something (together)
Skype is very succesfsfull and get more and more users, ... we can ignore them, accept them or do something,... My suggestion is that we try to do something, ... If we would peer to each other, than we get soon also a great amount of users together, and than our service becomes more valuable, ... Let's discuss advantages and disadvantages! bye Ronald -- Ronald Wiplinger (CEO of

This is a sad day for interoperability in the Web
Today, Adobe Systems Incorporated announced[1] that they will extend their Flash platform to support the proprietary H.264 and HE-AAC formats. The Xiph.Org Foundation has previously contacted Adobe to consider extending Flash to support the Open Media formats Vorbis, Theora, and Speex. Adobe developers replied by stating it would be unwise as it would increase the file size of the Flash Player,

just curious...
does ogg vorbis or any other format currently allow say, a whole cd recorded and compressed into one file, but with points stating where one track begins and ends, so you can just play certain songs out of this file, or possibly cut songs out of the file into seperate tracks. or is there any format that will do this in the future? (like ogg vorbis maybe). just wondering, thanks! Andy

Info on UK ISDN30e?
Hi :) My employer is looking to move a call centre to a new office, and has been increasingly frustrated with their legacy PBX (call-logging licensing and hardware upgrade costs). So I've stepped forth as the Open Source Pedant and suggested Asterisk so we can do all our own CallerID / call logging / analyses, and make use of IP Phones / teleworking, etc. The problem begins in that I only

Mapstraction v2 architecture demo - work in progress
Hi guys, Been working on this over the past few evenings and, although it''s not actually working yet, I thought I''d give you a first glance. The core mapstraction stuff is about 1800 lines with the Google implementation code adding another 500. Original mapstraction is 5353 lines so we''re looking at 5800 for this version if you were to include all provider

...eam across it. Often after I reboot the BIOS logo is mangled too until the first modeset. The crash seems to be happening in nv50_fb_intr() in nv50.c. I'm not sure if this is related, but the system now often freezes on suspend or resume since I switched from using the old (recently abandoned) proprietry NVIDIA drivers, again both with 5.2 and 4.19 kernels. Blacklisting the nouveau driver doesn't seem to fix it however, though I guess the graphics card could still be causing issues in some other way? I never had problems with suspend and resume before. Any suggestions about how I could debug t...
