Problems with sip registrations through HP Procurve 7102dl
Hi,
I have a strange problem, when I try to connect to les.net from our local asterisk server through Procurve router I seems to be connecting on any port above 1024 and when I reload sip the port is changing too ...
So I never get 5060? Any ideas on what is going on and how to resolve it?
?
Sincerely,
Robert Augustyn

as promised description of my XEN HA setup
Hi all,
In threads posted by I believe Jonathan Tripley I promised to post my new XEN
HA setup. Hope it can be of some use to some people.
In this particular case I''m forced to use SLES 10SP3 with XEN 3.2, which
excludes the possibility of using things like cLVM (which I don''t think I need
anyway).

Hi,
Has anyone tried to use cdp to push the voice vlan tag to polycom phones?
The document says that it is supported, but I can't make it work.
Thanks,

SOLUTION: Slow file transfers from Samba server
Here was the solution to my slow file-transfer problem from Scott. I
coincidentally did have a HP Procurve 4000m (what are the chances), ended up
swapping out the switch and presto. I can't believe I didn't try it
before. Thanks again Scott.
Here are some links I researched previous to this though that may help you.

yum problem
Hi, all.
I'm experiencing a problem with Yum. When I call 'sudo yum update' it
tells me that it can't find any mirrors & after doing a 'sudo yum clean
all' it just informs me it can't find any base repo & quits.
This is on a brand new installation of CentOS 6.2 x86_64. I suffered the
same problem with Fedora 19 too.
I have several Ubuntu & Mac OS X

VoIP PoE phones for restaurant
Greetings,
I mailed the list regarding an intercom system some months ago and we
came to the conclusion that I should purchase a Polycom 501 phone.
I'm now considering the purchase for this year, and I'm now wondering
between the Polycom 501 and the 320 for the intercom.
I don't need the spare ethernet on the phone because I would like to
have my voice network separate from my

DRBD NFS load issues
My NFS setup is a heartbeat setup on two servers running Active/Passive
DRBD. The NFS servers themselves are 1x 2 core Opterons with 8G ram and
5TB space with 16 drives and a 3ware controller. They're connected to a
HP procurve switch with bonded ethernet. The sync-rates between the two
DRBD nodes seem to safely reach 200Mbps or better. The processors on the
active NFS servers run with a load

Mirror failure
...on Fedora 17 also.
I've had to switch both machines to Ubuntu because I need working machines.
I've Googled this extensively & changed my nameservers, commented out
relevant lines in the configs, etc, etc but no luck so far. Ubuntu works
fine & I have no network problems (two HP ProCurves 2124s working
normally over the rest of the network: 17 machines).
Is there a workaround for this as I need a working CentOS box.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Phil...

[OT] Network switches
I'm looking to acquire a few new core switches for our network which
would be a major upgrade from the cheap unmanaged things we currently
have. Basically, just users, servers, and other simple network devices
will be plugged into them but I'd like to start doing some testing with
iSCSI for various non-production reasons. I have no allegiance to a
particular vendor although I do have a

[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database

thanks for the feedback.

in the backbone we have HP ProCurve switches and all of them (except for
the oldest series from more than 10 years ago) separate their forwarding
database per vlan. HP calls

Problems with crashing IBM X3630 M3/ZFS
Hello. I've got a quartet of IBM x3630 M3 with one that is frequently
hard locking under heavy NFS load. I am running 9.0-RELEASE with all
the patches from freebsd-update.
My problem machine has 8 16 core clients, each doing IO intensive tasks
connected to it via a Procurve and the onboard igb0 interface. Mostly
network reads, typically 10MB read per MB written.

NT4 IP stack failure under heavy load when using smbfs
Hello,
i try to use samba as backup solution for our NT4 servers. At 03:05 every
night we automatically shut down the servers, boot DOS and create with
Symantec Ghost offline a disaster recovery image of the NT4 SCSI disks
(NTFS) on a separate DOS IDE disk (fat32). The down (aka DOS) time is about
15-20 minutes. Then the machine boots with NT4 again. The image (one or two
files with max 2G each)

dropped calls
Hello list,
I'm getting droped calls on an asterisk installation. When on GS phone
dials another one, the call is dropped after some (usually random) time
but most of the tome within 3 to 20 seconds.
I think the cause is stated on the logs, see bellow, and is related with
the message "Didn't get a frame from channel: SIP/3805-df43", but I
can't figure why.

My future plan
My future plan currently looks like this for my VPS hosting solution, so any feedback would be appreciated:
Each Node:
Dell R210 Intel X3430 Quad Core 8GB RAM
Intel PT 1Gbps Server Dual Port NIC using linux "bonding"
Small pair of HDDs for OS (Probably in RAID1)
Each node will run about 10 - 15 customer guests
Storage Server:
Some Intel Quad Core Chip
2GB RAM (Maybe more?)

network redundancy via two nics, two routers?
Hi List,
I'm trying to configure two switches to provide redundancy (i.e. in
case one switch goes down), and am wondering if there is a standard
way to configure a CentOS box to use different gateways in a bonded
interface, depending upon which physical nic is being used?
A bit more detail might help answer the "And why do you want to do
that?" questions...

Ethernet poor performance
I am attempting to build an IPv4/IPv6 router. I have put a 2nd ethernet
card in a box.
I have one Ethernet card attached to my network and the other to a
switch with nothing else there just so the link comes up for testing.
When I have the built-in Ethernet attached to my network, I get pings
around 60ms. The other card, btw, does not have any IP addresses configed.

Hylafax without modems - SIP?
I've just had to replace my Hylafax server as the cooling fan in the rack case
has died and could not be replaced.
My box runs three fax modems, one for each of the original 3 fax machines that
got skipped years ago.
This means that I now have 3 lots of:
