Problems with sip registrations through HP Procurve 7102dl
Hi, I have a strange problem, when I try to connect to les.net from our local asterisk server through Procurve router I seems to be connecting on any port above 1024 and when I reload sip the port is changing too ... So I never get 5060? Any ideas on what is going on and how to resolve it? ? Sincerely, Robert Augustyn 519-997-3106 ext:802 www.linqone.com ? ? -------------- next part -------------- An...

as promised description of my XEN HA setup
...L370 G5 machines with DRBD and heartbeat on them. They are linked by two Gigabit bonded NICs for syncing. They offer IET across two other NICs with IPs in different segments. DRBD is on top of LVM and LVM is again on top of DRBD to be able to create a LV for each DomU. Network: switches are HP Procurve 1810. Not the fastest switches, but also not the most expensive ones. Will report later on if they can handle it all. Hypervisors: different machines, but for the moment all having 4 NICs. One NIC is for the trusted LAN, two are used for iSCSI initiating. One for DomUs in the DMZ. I use multipa...

SOLUTION: Slow file transfers from Samba server
Here was the solution to my slow file-transfer problem from Scott. I coincidentally did have a HP Procurve 4000m (what are the chances), ended up swapping out the switch and presto. I can't believe I didn't try it before. Thanks again Scott. Here are some links I researched previous to this though that may help you. https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-August/msg03799.html http:/...

...can't find any base repo & quits. This is on a brand new installation of CentOS 6.2 x86_64. I suffered the same problem with Fedora 19 too. I have several Ubuntu & Mac OS X machines that suffer no network connection problems & I can connect to the InterWeb just fine (via two HP Procurve 2426s). Any help appreciated. Cheers, Phil...

VoIP PoE phones for restaurant
...ade before PoE was standardized and do I need a special cable? Can I make this cable myself? In the future we plan to have 7 phones in the house. I'm considering what kind of PoE switch I should purchase. I have 3 PoE access points (for two separate LANs). I've been considering th HP ProCurve 2610-24/12PWR Switch (J9086A) ( http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/il/en/sm/WF06b/12883-12883-3445275-427605-427605-3751584-3658873.html ) It's got 12 PoE ports, it's managed, and it looks like I can pick one up for under $500. Any help is appreciated. -Andy

DRBD NFS load issues
My NFS setup is a heartbeat setup on two servers running Active/Passive DRBD. The NFS servers themselves are 1x 2 core Opterons with 8G ram and 5TB space with 16 drives and a 3ware controller. They're connected to a HP procurve switch with bonded ethernet. The sync-rates between the two DRBD nodes seem to safely reach 200Mbps or better. The processors on the active NFS servers run with a load of 0.2, so it seems mighty healthy. Until I do a serious backup. I have a few load balanced web nodes and two database nodes as NF...

Mirror failure
...on Fedora 17 also. I've had to switch both machines to Ubuntu because I need working machines. I've Googled this extensively & changed my nameservers, commented out relevant lines in the configs, etc, etc but no luck so far. Ubuntu works fine & I have no network problems (two HP ProCurves 2124s working normally over the rest of the network: 17 machines). Is there a workaround for this as I need a working CentOS box. Any help appreciated. Cheers, Phil... -- currently (ab)using CentOS 5.9 & 6.4, Debian Squeeze & Wheezy, Fedora Beefy, Spherical & That Damn Cat,...

[OT] Network switches
I'm looking to acquire a few new core switches for our network which would be a major upgrade from the cheap unmanaged things we currently have. Basically, just users, servers, and other simple network devices will be plugged into them but I'd like to start doing some testing with iSCSI for various non-production reasons. I have no allegiance to a particular vendor although I do have a

[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database
Hi, thanks for the feedback. > This is an interesting problem. I wonder how you would solve it if you > would have a real (managed) switch instead of tinc to connect the > access points and bridge nodes together? in the backbone we have HP ProCurve switches and all of them (except for the oldest series from more than 10 years ago) separate their forwarding database per vlan. HP calls this "multiple forwarding database". > Your solution basically tells tinc to not route only on the MAC address, > but on MAC+VLAN. That's in...

Problems with crashing IBM X3630 M3/ZFS
Hello. I've got a quartet of IBM x3630 M3 with one that is frequently hard locking under heavy NFS load. I am running 9.0-RELEASE with all the patches from freebsd-update. My problem machine has 8 16 core clients, each doing IO intensive tasks connected to it via a Procurve and the onboard igb0 interface. Mostly network reads, typically 10MB read per MB written. When the machine locks under load, none of the consoles respond, nor can I reach the machine via ethernet. I can break into DDB via the serial over lan interface, and am running a debug/witness kernel at...

Next morning (today) i had the same problem, this time with another server. I did some tests with our HP Procurve switches, they work correctly. I tried excessively to copy large (2G) files between the NT servers, everything fine. Then i tried to copy such files from a mounted NT share to the linux box and evey 10th try the IP stack or whatever on the NT box crashed completely without any errors or messages or...

network redundancy via two nics, two routers?
...And why do you want to do that?" questions... - Switch 1, Port 1: has an uplink to upstream provider, and is in VLAN-1 - Switch 2, Port 1: has a 2nd uplink to upstream provider, and is in VLAN-1 - Switch 1, Port 25+26 are trunked (link aggregation; depends on your terminology; these are procurve 2600's) and connected to Switch 2, Port 25+26. All vlans configured run on the trunked link, with tagging. - Uplinks to provider are running HSRP. Upstream provider creates a virtual IP (say, 2.2.2.1) that is the gateway to the outside world on one of the links, randomly. - Server A is co...

I am attempting to build an IPv4/IPv6 router. I have put a 2nd ethernet card in a box. I have one Ethernet card attached to my network and the other to a switch with nothing else there just so the link comes up for testing. When I have the built-in Ethernet attached to my network, I get pings around 60ms. The other card, btw, does not have any IP addresses configed. When I switch the
