use chkconfig to change service startup order
Hi, I have my httpd process that starts in runlevel3 with the following info
# chkconfig: - 85 15
# description: Apache is a World Wide Web server. It is used to serve \
# HTML files and CGI.
# processname: httpd
# pidfile: /var/run/httpd.pid
# config: /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
the filename is /etc/rc.3.d/K15httpd
However I installed an antivirus that uses a tomcat process that *must* be
started prior to apache.
the antivirus has the filename /etc/rc3.d/S99ISproxy
How can I make the httpd start...

init script as provided http://wiki2.dovecot.org/DovecotInit
Hello list,
I would add:
# dovecot Startup script for the dovecot server
#
# chkconfig: -
# processname: dovecot
# config: /path/to/config
# pidfile: /path/to/pid
So that it supports the chkconfig used by RHEL and clones too.
Also, maybe it should be installed by the Makefile's install target? it
could then also set:
DAEMON=/path/to/dovecot/daemon
instead of:
DAEMON=/usr/local/sbin/dovecot

The equivalent PowerShell command is Get-Process *ups*
Presently it returns this:
PS C:\Users\Admin> Get-Process *ups*
Handles NPM(K) PM(K) WS(K) VM(M) CPU(s) Id ProcessName
------- ------ ----- ----- ----- ------ -- -----------

So no... it doesn't appear upsd is running.

Errors when running on Windows
I'm facing a looming deadline for getting this working, so I'm hoping someone experienced can weigh in on this.
I'm getting errors in the Event Log when stopping the service:
1. Error stopping upsd (2)
2. Error stopping upsmon (2)
Is there a detailed log somewhere? How can I track this down and find out what they mean? Or does someone know?
Also, these three commands result in

Certain scripts "hang" the terminal on logout
I have an init script that after running, causes my terminal not to
log out cleanly. Here's what i mean:
# /etc/init.d/script restart << this runs fine, returns my shell prompt
# exit << When I enter this command, my shell window just stays
"stuck" and actually won't close down.
Anyone know why this happens?

Stopping a server not controled by service
Miredo is run as a server from the command line:
/usr/sbin/miredo
The man page says the signal SIGTERM stops the server.
How do I send SIGTERM to the server? Or SIGHUP, as I want to make a
change to the config file.
And once I get this as I want it, how do I run it at system boot?

Running two sshd's
Hi all,
I'm wondering whether it is feasible or not to run two distinct sshd
daemons with different config options!
I have a CentOS 4.4 gateway with 2 Ethernet interfaces. One is
connected to the Internet and the other to the LAN.
Basically, what I would like to do is having a sshd that listens to
the LAN interface with password enabled auth. and a sshd bound to the
Internet interface with
