Disappearing decimals... please help!
Maybe it''s all in my head, but I''m having the strangest little issue
ever. My pricetags in my rails app are always whole numbers. Rails seems
to completely ignore my decimal input. So as a consequence, 10.41
becomes 10.00, always.
Here''s some worthwhile stuff:
within my 004_create_products.rb file:
:price, :decimal, :percision => 2, :default => 0

Mitsubishi 2033C via gamtronic (SEC)?
...ishi 2033C UPSes that I badly want data from. We
used to have Mitsubishi Netcom devices which took the serial output and
provided a web interface, SNMP, and email alerts. All of those devices
died. They're really awful devices (they're clunky and have 386s in them)
and not worth the pricetag for a replacement.
The closest replacement I've seen so far is a device by Chipkin but it's
not very clear if they're actually selling it --

After reading about the Chipkin I realized the UPS I'm...

Grandstream Quality Survey.... :P
...but grandstream has give them the run around. If they
can't create stable and usable firmware they should atleast let the info
out to let someone write IAX firmware for the damn thing.
BOYCOTT GRANDSTREAM
Thanks,

PS: then again you get what you pay for, 10 dollar phone with a 65 dollar
pricetag.

Statistics on stability?
Hello,
I want to compare CentOS to Fedora and other distros on a
stability/network-dependance basis. Where should I look for some published
statistics on updates? I mean probably megabytes per week (or whichever
units, of published updates over time), per distro.
Thank you in advance

Ashlee Vance's article on R in the New York Times
...t than a bona fide article.
And the upshot of this , in the outlook for statistical software, is that
regarding the strengths and (considerable) limitations of the three
classical statistical programming languages ( S, SAS, SPSS) , R really
doesn't change anything at all. I definitely like the pricetag though. And
that does not mean that R cannot achieve a quality and reliability
comparable to S-Plus and SAS, not withstanding Milley's snide comment. But
if you want to attack the chronic and painful productivity problems with
data preparation and statistical table production, you need to go be...

TextMate for Rails development -- why?
Greetings,
I am curious, I see quite a few references to using TextMate for
rails development. I downloaded TextMate and used it for 30 days. I
do not see what everyone is raving about. Snipplets are nice, but
other editors do the same thing, some with much more power.
Can anyone tell me what makes people draw to TextMate? Maybe I am
missing the whole reason, I''d really like to
