Postfix + SASL
Hello list.
I have a mail server where I use Postfix+SASL. Everything works fine.
Sending emails when using client (Outlook, Thunderbird or anything
else) require authorization. It is OK.
But on the same server there is a Squirrelmail which sends emails as a
localhost. To send email in this way there is no any authorization.
Besides one preson use PINE on the server...
How to do that

Thoughts: chaindev -> altchain
...f functions moved outside original
chain.c) to the chaindev subdir; any further swaps (e.g.
towards core disk functions) / backporting would be
a trivial matter too
- the code would be easily available for others to
experiment with (use, patch, comment). I haven't had
any problems presonally since my last commit, and
it was tested pretty extensively
- the documentation is also included, though it needs
some un-engrishing and a bit more friendliness

I presonally use Fedora laptop and desktop joined to domain by realmd

'CentOS linux desktop', so there is chance, that we will need UNIX
attributes at least for user acounts and Domain Users group as primary
group. But we don't need s...

Failed to create storage with data
Switched from UW-IMAP to dovecot a little while ago. Worked through the
namespace hell with current users. But now I've hit another problem I can't
seem to figure out.
Some webmail (squirrelmail) users noticed that when they tried to login they
would jus get this error:
ERROR:
ERROR : Connection dropped by imap-server.
Query: CAPABILITY
I discovered in the mail logs the real error

smb.conf getting changed?
Hi!
I got my first Samba 4 system up and running. {No applause, just throw
money. Paper please, coins hurt}
It is just a home network of about a dozen or so boxes.
I have noticed that when I do a testparm, the result is not the same as
the file I created.
I'm fairly certain it isn't anything to worry about; I'm just trying to
learn.
Thanks!

FreePBX in production?
Has anyone attempted to use FreePBX for a business in production mode?
Initial take is there are lots of things scripted but a lot of
limitations in terms of supporting basic business functions. Inability
(or lack of flexibility) is handling multiple incoming pstn lines,
dialplan limitations, poor/no documentation, etc, to mention a few.
Maybe its just me, but it appears its no where near

pop 110/995, imap 143/993 ?
If I read this correctly, starttls will fail due to the MITM attack. That is the client knows security has been compromised. Using SSL/TLS, the MITM can use SSL stripping. Since most Postifx conf use "may" for security, the message would go though unencrypted. Correct???
Is there something to enable for perfect forward security with starttls?

Named update for RH 4.2 exploitable?
Someone I was speaking with this evening claimed they have installed the
latest named rpms yet they are still getting exploited daily and being
hacked. Do the latest rpm''s for the named 4.9.x stuff fix all the root
exploits or is this person just an idiot who probably has holes elsewhere in
the system?
