Prayer, Maildir and Folders whose names begin with "."
Greetings - I think I've just had one of my fears confirmed: not Dovecot-specific exactly, but it affects how we will use of Prayer (Webmail Software) with Dovecot... Currently our production service uses MBX-format mailboxes with the UW IMAP server; we also use the University of Cambridge "Prayer" software for Webmail. By default Prayer saves its preference settings, address book and so on in a regular IMAP...

An option to test what will be done by the puppet client?
Hi, I can''t find an option of the puppetd client that can just print what the puppetd client will do on my system (updateing files, installing softwares, etc), but without doing all the things (like a "diff" between the current state of my system and the state defined on the puppet server). Is such option exists ? Regards

Search with specified charset
I've seen a problem with searching in the Prayer webmail client that turns out to be caused by Prayer insisting on a charset called "ISO-8859-1" and Dovecot, using Solaris iconv, not recognising it (all the Solaris 8 iconv modules appear to be "ISO8859-1" etc. or just "8859-1"). This isn't a problem in Linux:...

Parity between native types and defined types
I want to create native types (despite that fact that apparently nobody wants to) to manage a variety of resources under a common namespace. However, I can''t seem to get the namespacing going right. With a defined type, I can do this: define backup_ninja::config(blah, baz) { ... } But that''s not much use to me, as a defined type just isn''t going to cut the mustard

Kerberos in OpenSsh 2.9.9p2
...fine too :-) If I package these fixes up and submit them, is there any likelihood of them making it into the portable code (suitably #ifdef'd, of course)? Thank-you to Samba developers
...tication from a linux VM. It expresses my awe at the folks who write and maintain Samba, and it's long overdue from me: It?s been 3 or 4 years since I configured Samba; it?s always a challenge for me, mainly due to my poor understanding of MSoft networking. Then when it works, I offer a silent prayer for those crazy Australians who originated it. The pain they must have endured in getting it to work boggles my mind. In that respect it may be the most impressive open-source project out there, and they haven?t slowed-down in the least. You folks deserve every accolade......Nick Geo

ChanSpy - Should I repatch it ?
With the deafening silence from my previous questions, I feel seriously alone in the desire to have ChanSpy available. I want to be able to perform a "ZapBarge" on an Agents conversation, and ChanSpy was the answer to my prayers. Bug #2379 (http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0002379) was closed "bkw918 10-27-04 17:06 Closed pending new changes in cvs-head." These changes do not seem to be in CVS-HEAD as of today. Do I need to make the old patch work against current CVS-HEAD, or is it going to b...

Network interfaces (and deleting them)
I''m in a bit of a pickle and I can''t work out a safe way to do something. I currently have a define called ip that I use to define network interfaces. The built in method didn''t seem to work, so I designed this to write out the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg- ethX file. However, I started thinking about what if I decide to define an eth0:0 for some purpose, and

PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
...ibarr and OwnCloud. Any suggestions ? I'm no lamer for doing a bit of RTFM, so a pointer to documentation will do. The problem is not so much that there is no information on the subject. It's rather : there's too much. As we say in France : I'm confused about which saint to send my prayers to. :o) Cheers, Niki -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'?glise - 30730 Montpezat Site : https://www.microlinux.fr Blog : https://blog.microlinux.fr Mail : info at microlinux.fr T?l. : 04 66 63 10 32

Some issues in Dovecot 1.2.5 after upgrade from 1.0.15
We upgraded from Dovecot 1.0.15 to 1.2.5 last night, on Solaris 10 using mboxes, mostly without issues. However I had to trash the index/cache files (too many folders were showing corruption issues which is especially bad for Prayer Webmail ".prayer" folders that store preferences; Prayer sees a disconnection as the folder being missing!). I've had one imap process panic in mailbox sync (as I mentioned above, the index files have been newly created in 1.2.5): > Sep 30 09:57:10 imap-login: Info: Login: user=&...
