My Grandstream works, but my X-Lite doesn't:no sound after 5sec
This is troubling. Shouldn't your hubs/routers autosense the 10MBPS? ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: WipeOut <wipe_out@lycos.co.uk> Reply-To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2003 07:53:13 +0100 >Steven J. immediate on fxo
When immediate is set on a port that is an fxo, what is the meaning of this ? Will it go immediately to the "s" extension of the context when the line first rings, or something else ? I am looking for a way to stop the line ringing two extra times before being answered by the channel bank. (caller id is set to off I believe, and the lines in question don't have it anyway.)

Modem
Hello list, Why PC modems were not used as FXO devices? Why chan_modem was deprecated? it seemed a nicer option instead of buying expensive gateways. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... line battery check
I know in the x100p hardware the driver can sense whether there is battery voltage on the line or not. Is this possible in the zap drivers using t1/e1 interfaces ? I believe the signalling bits are only ring and hook, not loop presence, so not sure if it is possible. I had a situation last night where a main cable was cut in the area and lines were down overnight. My burglar alarm knew right

Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1 problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank. Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital? SIP configuration question
First question: Do you need to use a special phone to use SIP? My setup is X100P and TDM10B (I have 2 computers with the same setup), will I be able to use SIP? I already have the two computers calling each other using IAX, but I would like to see if I can get them to work using SIP. My current setup: On computer 192.168.10.50 **sip.conf*** [general] port=5060 bindaddr=0.0.0.0

Phantom Rings
I'm having a major problem at one of my branch offices with "Phantom Rings" on their asterisk-based phone system. The system was originally built using 2 X100P cards and was recently upgraded to a Rhino R4FXO-EC card. The upgrade severely increased the frequency of the phantom rings. I've read everything I can find on-line about automatic testing and noise on the line and

ISDN BRI with National (north america) Signalling
Anyone actually got this working with asterisk ? I have read posts that it is possible with capi and the diva server cards. Regular diva and diva pro both claim to support NI-1 and NI-2 and CAPI - will they work as well ? Has anyone actually got it working ? Forget the should and could part, I only care about the does/doesn't and why. If you have it working, please tell me - telco,

Bandwidth shapping device
I have a link to a building (e.g. 10Mb/s) and want to split up the bandwidth to different users. Each user should get e.g., 512kB/s plus 256kB/s dedicated for VoIP. What kind of device can I use for that ? (managing switch ??? which one?) bye Ronald Wiplinger

paging system (long)
I'm back on the paging again - still can't get it working as I wish. I have listed two attempts below where I run into basically the same problem [pagejon] - I drop a file in the spool directory that starts that context, I must use a device though that the outbound call is placed by. The phones ring, and when picked up get connected to the device I specify - the festival stuff is

SIP client floods port 5060 and gets blocked
Hello, Is there any reason why an IP-phone would pounder on port 5060 ? My firewall blocks the public IP because it thinks the remote IP is port scanning on port 5060. I think the phone is just registering but for some reason it does this repeatedly in a very short time. diax request
First of all great job on diax. I downloaded it and tried it, could not connect, got an authentication rejected, but I have not had a chance to figure out why yet - tried with a working gnophone setup in the configuration files. Is there any way to pass command line arguements to the program ? Where I see a real niche for a lightweight softphone is being able to serve the thing from a

MGCP information
I have read over the archives and am still a little confused about mgcp support in asterisk. I realize the mgcp channel is server side only (but jump in and correct me if I got this wrong.) I have seen a few references to sip<>mgcp interteroperability in patches, so now I am wondering what the case is with support in the code. What I actually want to do is have asterisk act as the client

Zhone channel Banks
I've got a Zhone 24 port FXS to configure. The configuration is beyond stupid. The people that designed this unit should be chased down and fired. I'm going around in circles frigging with all the options. Does anyone have a config file for this unit that I can use as a starting point? -bill wlloyd@slap.net

Live CD - do you think they are worth doing?
Hi, Curious, do many of you check out software or projects when they have a live CD or does that make any difference to you? Does anyone know if the general public (not reading this kind of list) is attracted to a Live CD more than an Install one? thx, /r
