Hello, Anyone out there running a production network supporting PC and Macintosh clients using samba and netatalk. we are currently using NT 4.0 with AppleTalk-IP software. Sharing the same files with the Macs and the pc is a must. I read someplace that samba 2.2.2 supports Appletalk. Is this true? Thanks, Joe

Anyone have any suggestions on free sip phone software for windows?? Only have one IP phone and want to have one other computer hooked up to my Asterisk box for testing.

...e: 1) Does it hurt anything for rsyncd to not be able to resolve uids? It doesn't seem to affect the function of the system. 2) If it's not hurting anything, is there a way to stop these messages? Hi, I want to setup rights so that users can create files/dirs but once they close them they have read-only right for them. I'm using Samba 2.2.2 on XFS but AFAIK XFSs ACL won't help me. One friend told me that he saw once some "well hidden" parameter for Samba which allows this :-) BTW: NT and Novell allows to do this thing ;-) (also is said Solaris) Thanks, Libor

I am unable to see my samba server from my Win2k Pro machine. Can someone please help me out? I had a problem with Samba early on. The problem was resoved by removing TCP/IP from my Win2k machine and then reinstalling TCP/IP. Now I've stumbled into this problem. Hello, I have just installed samba latest last night, everything appears to be working accept it will not let me login. I am trying to run the sbmpasswd command but it says I have the wrong password.
