Convert dataframe to table with counts where column names become row names
Can anyone explain how best to go from a dataframe to a table (or better yet
a new dataframe) of counts, where the row names in the new table (or
dataframe) are the column names of the original df.

plotting (a) confidence intervals (b) standard error
Hi all,
I'm building a plot of the values in tmeant (below) against positions 1 to

tmeant looks like this:

pos4 950.8011 1129.6080
pos5 968.1080 1063.3920
I also have lower (object tl) and upper (object tu) bounds on the
confidence intervals as follows:

Cisco 7960 and Voice Mail
I search Google to find how to get the message light to flash on my
Cisco 7960 running (Application Load ID POS3-06-3-00) (Boot Load ID
PC03M030) (DSP Load ID PS03AT38)
All I see is about the sip.conf file witch mine has the mailbox=XXXX but

Any ideas?

Cisco 7960 tftp question
Hello, and thank you for your time answering my question.
I have a Cisco 7960 running SIP firmware POS3-06-X-XX. If I want to upload
SIP configurations via *.cnf file from my tftp server, do I need to
include the OS79XX.TXT and P0S3-06-X-XX.bin to the tftp server root
directory to be uploaded every time the phone reboots?
Thanks again for your help.

Voicemail prompts garbled
...d" can be
recognized, but when it starts on the short phrases it is completely
garbled. It is almost like the subsequent phrase starts before the
current phrase finishes.
I have isolated the LAN to the * box and the phones, so LAN congestion
is ruled out.
The phones are Cisco 7940 using POS3-06-1-00. The SIPDefault.cnf file
is generic. Calls between 7940 phones seem ok. I don't have any analog
phones on Asterisk.
The system is a dual processor Xeon 2.4G. HT is off. Kernel is generic

Cisco 7940, Voicemail & DTMF
Would anyone know why Voicemail in * doesn't get the DTML keypresses
from my Cisco 7940 running SIP (POS3-07-3-00) ? Is it something to do
with "dtmf_avt_payload: 101" setting in SIPDefault.cnf in the tftp server?
Thanks for any help!

"HTTP Connection Timeout" Trouble with Cisco 7960 Phone
Hello, I'm using two Cisco 7960 phones currently loaded and showing
Firmware POS3-07-4-0 (Version 7.4?) and I'm having a strange problem.
Whenever the phone is supposed to try to load anything over HTTP from
my Apache 2.2.x web server, the connection just sits and times out.
Nothing shows up in the Apache logs unless I hit cancel.
What could the trouble be?

500 Internal Server Error on Cisco 7940 after INVITE
...is a description of an error
http://lists.iptel.org/pipermail/serdev/2005-November/006344.html which
seems similar but since its in 2005 I assume the problem would be fixed
by now. If that is the problem, can anybody suggest a workaround?
I have upgraded the phones to the most recent firmware (POS3-08-11-00)
and * is "Version: 1:1.4.21.2~dfsg-3+lenny1" (debian).
Can anybody offer any advice or suggestions on fixing or debugging this
further? If anybody else has encountered the problem and knows of a fix
that would be great.
Thanks,
Ian Crowther

Cisco firmwares 3.6.3 vs 3.8.6
Hi All,
A question for those with Cisco 7940/60 SIP phones. I used to load
POS3-06-03-00 Firmware to the cisco phones. A month or so ago, I ran
some tests and found that latest 3.8.6 firmware worked well, and solved
an issue or two on the phones.
I've a number of users who work outside of the LAN. Our phones use DNS
names to talk to A*k, so in theory, just enabling NAT...

Cisco registration problem with 1.8.3.3
I am having a problem registering my cisco phones which is exactly like that
described in
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2011-May/262306.html
except that I am on Asterisk 1.8.3.3 and using sip level POS3-07-4-00
The symptoms are:
o 7960 lines show [X]
o Outbound calls can be made from the phone, including call pickup of inbound
calls, but not to it.
o Trace shows REGISTER packets sent from phone but no response from Asterisk
Is there any way this regressed code could be picked up in a 1833 build...

Cisco to Cisco - poor quality
I am just starting to deploy asterisk in our office to use as our primary
phone system - we plan to use a Voicetronix OpenLine4 card as our PSTN
gateway - but one thing at a time... haven't got that far yet. Currently,
i'm trying simple IP to IP calls within the office using our Cisco 7960's
phones running SIP.
When I make a call between these two phones, the conversation is of a

Load ID POS3-2-00) software. I have configured the 7960 correctly, I

I have set everything - name, shortname, auth.name and display name set
to 200.
I have set the password to 200.
I've set the proxy address/port to 192.168.1.117/5060.

My Cisco 7940 is not registering with Asterisk
I just got a Cisco 7940G phone running SIP firmware version POS3-06-1-00. I
unlocked the phone's config, and using the soft keys, I entered the SIP
Configuration menu and keyed in values for Name, Auth. Name, ProxyAddress
(where I gave my Asterisk server's IP address), etc.
The result is that I can make outgoing calls from this phone just fine

7960/SIP MWI Question
...light is a logical OR of all the
defined lines.
Is there a way to tell the phone NOT to display the MWI for certain
lines but retain the envelope for all? If you get enough VM on busy
lines then the light tends to lose meaning and you may as well have it
on all the time!
I'm currently on POS3-06-3-00
