cgroup support
Hi,
I am setting up a system that enforces cgroup restrictions when a user logs in via SSH, and for all the services that are run by a particular user.
I am also running dovecot to give users IMAP/POP access to their mailboxes. However, to be part of a cgroup, PIDs must be explicitly added to the cgroup tasks file. So for now, all my processes are run with resource restrictions, except for

Feature request
Hello,
I have an idea, is this a good list for it? I hope
it won't be offtopic.
So... it would be nice, if you change the host resolver
code to this: it should lookup MX records like mail
transport agents, but only if A record for host doesn't
present. Demonstration:
foo.org MX 7 bigboy.foo.org
bigboy.foo.org A 1.2.3.4
west.foo.org MX 1 mail.fooisp.net

Checkpassword/prefetch/master_user and problems
Hi.
I'm trying to use checkpassword for simple auth and masteruser auth.
I have two programs, one called checkpassword-master (for masteruser
lookup) and another called checkpassword for normal passdb and userdb
lookup).
All works fine for non-masteruser authentication (in this case dovecot
makes a single call to checkpassword binary). But if a master-user
authenticates, dovecot execute

I need the mean and sd of this new fit to proceed to my next module.I'm not sure if i'm on track. Excuse me if this sounds too naive. If nls is not what i should be using can you please give me some pinters to solve this.
Thanks in advance.

Is print-serving this easy? Also, Sol8 compile problem
I plan to install Samba 3 on a Solaris 8 server in order to publish some local queues to a few Windows users -- but no file sharing.
Is it as simple as configure; make; make install and then share out a few queues? I'd like to add password protection to these pinters, but I can't decide on whether to hand off all authentication to our Active Directory server or just to use one shared (d'oh!) password per printer. (It's really just to defeat casual users, and people who send a print job by mistake.)
That leads me to my second question: I read thro...

Raw Printing, was cupsaddsmb and .inf files
Howdy,
I've just successfully configured a win2k system to print on a raw queue,
but apparenty not through samba.
I'm courious as to why that didn't work, and would like to help update the
documentation to cover this in more detail,
if only I understood it better.
I started by following the directions here under "Raw Print Serving Vendor
Drivers on Windows Clients":

9.2-RC4 amd64 panic: vm_page_unwire
I'm running 9.2-RC4 on a handful of desktop and server machines (both
i386 and amd64). I have seen three panics (all vm_page_unwire) on one
of those systems only (amd64 server) during the past week.
The first two panics were triggered when shutting down the ntpd daemon
(a recent development snapshot version of ntpd: 4.2.7p387). Exiting a
later release (p388) has not triggered the panic.

Login script for Win95 machines
On my Samba server I created a directory called 'netlogon' and I put a batch
file in there called 'login.bat'. Also did I create a share called
'netlogon' which points to the 'netlogon' directory.
I set up samba to use a login script (login script=netlogon/login.bat).
Strange enough it does not seem to be executed when Win95 clients logon. If

Master User Features I'd like to see
Here's what I'd like. Limited master users, where someone can be a
master users for some domains but not others. I think I could do what I
want with the right kinds of variable passing that doesn't yet exist.
Let me see if I can explain clearly.
From the example in the wiki:

passdb {

args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql-master.conf.ext

Two Questions concerning samba - file access times - two instances on one server
Hello everybody,
i have two questions concerning samba.
1st Topic - file times
NTFS has three file times for each file,
the create time, the change time and the
access time. The create time will never be
modified, the change time will be changed
every time you save a file, the access time
will be changed every time you access (read)
a file. If i access a file on a samba share,

Samba 2.2 alpha3 released
Hi all,
I have just released the fourth alpha snapshot
of what will become Samba 2.2.0.
It's available from the usual ftp sites, in the alpha
directory as :
<ftp mirror>:/pub/samba/alpha/samba-2.2.0-alpha3.tar.gz
If people could test this snapshot out and provide feedback
about what is broken and let the lists know that would help.
The problem acting as a PDC for
